Why didn't they just stop waiting and go straight to Godot?
>>
>>24973993
Go straight... to where?
>>
It was about the godii we made along the way.
>>
dude, it's an allegory
>>
>>24974026
They could've followed one of the boys back to Godot
>>
>>24974026
to the dot

Should I read beckett in french or english?
Which of his works are most essential?
>>
Godot = God
Thank me later

Kill yourself
- OP (basically)
>>
>>24973993
This is the only Beckett I've ever read. I plan to read his trilogy but I thought this was shite
>>
>>24975459
You should probably skip Beckett if you didn't like Godot, it is his best work.
>>
>>24975475
grim

Even in his own time Beckett and other writers like Ionesco were very "you either loved them or you hated them". I think they were trying to find the absolute minimum amount of story/character needed for something to still be considered a play. They were also responding to the likes of Brecht and existing within a sort of post-war nihilism.

Foucault credited with waiting for Godot for being the breakthrough in his thought which had hitherto orbited around "Marxism, existentialism, Freudianism"
>>
>>24973993
godot is open source and unity has a really bad licensing thing, personally i'd just recommend people write their own engine
>>
>>24973993
What in god's name is the point of reading Beckett?
>>
>>24975510
That's one of the grimmest things I've ever read.

I just got back from the Broadway show starring Neo and that other guy from Bill & Ted. I thought it was funny how shamelessly they referenced Bill & Ted throughout the show. Just not "ha ha" funny.
>>
>>24976176
Unironically more impactful than the play itself

>They were also responding to the likes of Brecht
Must have been a shitty time for theater when your choices were Beckett and Brecht
