"the jazz theory book" by mark levine. yeah't it's theoretically about jazz, but most popular music is just a blues rip off so it's all covered. if u want electronic production, "the secrets of house music production" by sample magic is old but good. even if u not making house, it shows u all the tools and techniques to make whatever. there's a spiritual successor called "secrets of techno production" by attack mag that looks p sick, but i can't find a copy.
