It's always funny when people who don't know Greek (which is approaching 100% of posters on this board) try to attempt to answer questions like this in any kind of meaningful way. As if you know the subtle philological differences that make Lattimore different from Fagles, etc. As if you are in any way fit to judge what translations are "true to the original."

I read Fitzgerald and loved it. If I were to reread it, I'd go for Pope, Lattimore or Merrill, they sound the best to me when comparing translations.

I got a Gredos translation, which is supposed to be the best among Spanish translations, yet I still don't know what's going most of the time even though I read each 3 times already
