Comedy is my favorite genre of film and TV, but I've never read a comedic book. What are some funny/witty/satirical books that are worth reading?

I laughed a lot reading Don Quixote.

"At night all cats are gray."

Although it's a tragedy, as early as 1750 there were official records of people laughing while reading it.

Out of sight, out of mind

“Look, your grace,” replied Sancho, “those things you see there aren’t giants, but windmills, and what look like arms are the sails, which, turned by the wind, make the millstone go.”

"Easier said than done." (Action differs from words.)

PG Wodehouse was the greatest comedic writer ever. I'd recommend reading any of his Jeeves and Wooster books you can get your hands on.

Is this from Sadly, Porn? I assume TLP is The Last Psychiatrist.

If you have the patience and focus for them (big "if", these days), lots of early novels like Don Quixote are funny. I'm specifically thinking Tristram Shandy and Tom Jones.

Kingsley Amis' work is usually very funny.
