Why are they all holding different books
>>250028654channel /lit/ format. For true bibliophiles who have already read the majority of what the others have read.
>>25002865>bring a book>put it in a bowl>take a random book home and fuck the owners wife>bring it back>discuss which was better: book or pussy
>>25002864You first, flaming faggot.
>>25002881That's the whitest thing I've ever heard
>>25002923Okay pajeet
>>25002864>startI've been in various book clubs, most of them IRL, since I ran my own here on /lit/ 10 years ago.
>>25002864>no black peoplebased
>>25002929What book are you bringing? I want to know so I can fuck your wife later
that should be a carpentry club.
>>25002945Photoshopping yourself next to another man’s wife does not mean you fucked her ranjeet
Not a bad idea. Most book clubs are dominated by middle aged women who aren't interested in talking about books. >redditCould be FtoM troons discussing hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy.
>>25002945>your wifeKek
>>25003044I already thought of this last year but I don't know any other men that read except my dad.
>>25002864me third from left
>>25002941There are no black people in book clubs. My girlfriends female only book club (that's 90% pornmantasy let's be fair) is also just white girls with 1 Asian girl. Black people are somehow really allergic to reading. I have no idea why because there are some good black writers.
>>25002864okay i'll bring the pipe bomb
>>25003028I couldn't be in a picture with your wife because no light escapes her event horizon
>>25002865It's AI. Those aren't even the covers of real books.
>>25002864but i did. i met up with some peeps from reddit and we had a group read irl for shadow ticket. honestly it was really refreshing to be able to talk about pynchon with people who love him and without having to worry about other people shouting “filtered!” without adding anything to the discussion themselves.
>>25003167>be blackIf only you knew how lonely and bad things can be.
>>25002864I have more T in my body than all of them combined. I’ll continue reading and discussing it with nobody thank you.
>>25003682>thank youso high T yet still can’t help ending it with the caricaturishly gay passive-aggressive closer
>book clubRetarded premise that never works as intended
>for men
>>25003708you’re in one
>>25002864No, I will not.
>>25003691>i-i-it’s low T b-because, well, I know it is.Sorry I insulted your group selfie anon. What book did you bring?
>>25003780henry fowler’s dictionary of modern usage. but back to the topic at hand. you’re revealing more about yourself than anything else.
only cucks read books
>>25003788You’re absolutely seething about this. I would hope you can calm down in time to eat dinner without getting heartburn. It’ll all be okay.
>>25002865My guess would be that each bring a book for the group and they go through all of them.
>>25003167A cute black girl wanted me to read Fanon. I wanted to lick her butthole very badly.
>>25003943clearly. i’m just talking to you normally, is that ok?
>>25002864I want to start a club, but the problem is that Canadians are lethargic, small minded, miserable people. I've sent out cold solicitations to several politicians/government types with no response.>I want to propose to you forming a fraternity for promoting Canadian culture. Modeled half on the German Verbindung and half on Tablighi Jamaat. A drinking club of sorts that meets weekly to belt out old voyageur songs and sea shanties, with summer excursions to paddle canoes along the old portages. An active concept of Canadian identity, not the bigoted nostalgia promoted by reactionaries, but something open to all, which is lived and experienced. Crucially, something which can be exported. A weapon of soft-power abroad as much as a tool of domestic harmony. It goes without saying I will need funding, but I think it is a worthy goal.Frankly this country is too stupid for me. The benefits would be enormous, the cost small. But people here would sooner see the country balkanize than hold their nose long enough to interact with someone they didn't go to high school with. God I want to leave this shithole so bad, at least Americans appreciate talent and ambition.
>>25004033canada has an (earned) reputation of being some sort of australia parallel, but it’s always struck me as a remarkably renaissancing country. they have a lot of good indie/alt music artists from there. also ryan gosling, denis villeneuve, trailer park boys. other ‘cool’ famous people i can’t remember right now. norm macdonald.
>>25002864Sometimes I feel like the only Millennial on the planet without a single tattoo.
>>25004284don't have one eitherhave thought about it though, but i would have regretted getting all the ones i've thought about
>>25004284when girls ask i say i have a big thug life tattoo on my chest and then never explain if i’m being serious or not
>>25004284there are more chuds around other than you yourself
>>25002864Looking like the average crowd at a Collective Soul concerthttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_m0bI82Rz_k
>>25002864>each and every single one of them is balding
>>25003167>Black people are somehow really allergic to reading. I have no idea why because there are some good black writersNo there aren't. Pushkin and Dumas are both quarter black, they don't count.
>>25002864>/lit/ when nobody reads: oh god oh fuck society is doomed the westfallen>/lit/ when people read: haha fucking gay cucks
>>25004007I wouldn’t say there’s anything normal about latching on to a random reply to a shitpost thread because it dared question the test levels of the dorks in a twitter post.
>>25004033you need funding to go to a bar? to rent a canoe?
>>25004058Heaps of music comes out of Australia and actors and we have hundreds of book clubs.
>>25004058It was like that pre-pandemic. Things are not good here at the moment.>>25004851To quit my job and start canoeing and going to the bar full time. The bastard politicians wont allow it to happen.
>>25004805it was an at-arms-length putdown. was an embarrassing initial post you made but you’re still overreacting.
>>25003780Nah he's right, that "closer" is such gay bitch behavior. You wouldn't know what "T" is if it hit you in the ass
>>25003174what use is your dilator at a book reading club?
>>25002864I find it funny many people think these guys are low T just because they are smiling like basedjaks. Fun fact: Basedjaks are based on real people, and real people usually smile when they meet strangers and have fun.The real onions is being like that where there isn't a reason. Like a guy smiling that he is getting cucked, that he is being opened a literal can of onions with a robotic arm, that star wars movie dropped, etc.
>>25004908You must be a thrill to be around
>>25004908it’s an AI pic. but kanye was right when he said ‘when you see paintings in an old castle, people are not smiling cause it just wouldn't look as cool.’
>>25003167that's because black people are real niggas. real niggas know reading is an exercise in futility
>>25002864>all the comments are complaining he's friends with too many white males
>>25005222feel like it’s not worth making this point if you’re implicitly admitting you went to the trouble of looking up the reddit post (for some reason).
>>25005241I saw it on the same place OP got his pic, twitter (latterly X)
>>25005245and shared this insight on the literature board why? to what end i wonder
>>25005257you sound upset
>>25005267an english writer once said ‘people find what they bring’… i think you read that into what i said. don’t really see anything in my post to suggest it.
I was in a book club for a while but it fell apart because one guy wanted to read exclusively 4chan-core right-wing alt-history garbage and another guy(tranny but also my friend) called him out on it and it turned into a huge argument and people stopped coming after that. How do we get men to read real books instead of the male equivalent of sparkly vampire novels?
>>25002864Thats pretty cool. Good for them.
>>25002864What if you have a book club for reading non-fiction?
>>25004864you could delete the entirety of australia from world history and nothing would change except for copper and opal prices.
>>25005823>makes every dollar he ever earned off of selling precious metals he stole and literally nothing else. It's simply nature>nurture
>>25005828What metals did he steal?
>>25005820I only read non-fiction if it is purely instructive. I don't need another man's opinion in my head.
>>25004898jej
>>25005278>"real books"Literary just means pandering to the kind of people who think navel-gazing and neurotic gay sex is deep. The kind of people who tell you to read the Secret History and think it's anything more than schlickfiction, same as the minotaur milking farms of romantasy.>>25005820>I only read non-fictionHaving been around these people in uni and at work I can tell you that 99% of people who say that only read fake-ass biographies about celebrities. Those paperbacks you see in every department store and airport.
>>25005820Is there a decent non-fiction list?
>>25005278that was me and fuck you guys
>>25005876Idk, but everyone should have these non-fiction book ideally in both physical and digital form:Gulag Archipelago - Alexander SolzhenitsynThe Wealth of Nations - Adam SmithBrief History of Time - Stephen HawkingThe Selfish Gene - Richard DawkinsMein Kampf - Adolf HitlerPermanent Record - Edward SnowdenUnknown Warriors - Nicholas PringleOne Bullet Away - Nathaniel FickWhy Beauty Matters - Roger ScrutonCollege level textbooks on math, physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy, medicine/anatomy/surgery, history, some survival guides, military combat/tactical guides, fitness guides, some cookbooks and your own writings of your experiences/thoughts/opinions.
>>25003239Dumbass
>>25004033Sounds gay I'm in
If this were a serious board, threads about reading and ‘the lifestyle’ would be banned. It’s akin to console wars and battlestation threads on /v/ and netflix vs hulu or whatever on /tv/. Anybody who actually reads isn’t interested in the particulars of how you read books, but in the matter of literature itself. You’re all so tiresome
>>25004967I don't like smiling much in pictures due the same reason it looks cringe, but if you take a shot with so many other people it would be hard not to smile for me.>>25005820>"non-fiction">look inside>self-help slopyeah because being told you're one with the universe and hug yourself is so chad
>>25005876Yes, my reading list for statistical analysis and learning methods. Won't show it though, can only recommend "All of Statistics" by Larry Wasserman. On a more serious note, I found a book that is the "Biology of Desire". At the start tells you how addiction is labeled as disease by the medicine industry and fights back the definition. He also mentions alcoholic anonymous and so far every little thing he says is backed with a reference, unlike other self help slop based on dopamine or whatever this seems like a critical account of his views on the seek and want behaviour of humans, interesting shit.I found the book because I really felt a good book in that topic may help me get over a past relationship, I truly feel this is what addiction to a drug.
>>25006002>>25006122Thanks
>>25006122>this is what addiction to a drug.*feels like>>25004033>... Modeled half on the German VerbindungSee this is where they lost you, it's nazi shit for a politician he stopped reading there.>Frankly this country is too stupid for me.Sad to hear because Toronto is my first option on where to move to.There is going to be a book club day in a shopping mall today about 1984, and about Fahrenheit 451 tomorrow. This is Mexico and some shithole city you wouldn't think reads btw>>25006127You're welcome. For most non-fiction that is modern, I recommend you scan the paragraphs by the first sentence quickly. Many of them are repetitive and you miss nothing until a new subsection starts. Then you decide to drop it or not.
>>25004880>>25004887>>25004908Man that anon really ruffled your feathers
>>25006197You catched two of my posts, the first one is another guy.In my reply to OP I just thought about how there's always a comment people throw around when there's guy smiling. Like, I also like stoic looks on men, but just smiling with people around is something anyone would do. In this pic definitely there's some soi genotypes, though. The other post is replying to an anon that actually really ruffled my feathers like you say. I hate those smug bitch responses that only women write or say, so men saying them is like being triple homo over. If you actually liked the stoic man and felt like one, you wouldn't be a passive aggressive bitch, you would just be serious and to the point. Unlike a teenager that just discovered sarcasm. So it's pretty manchildren behavior, more than just smiling.
>>25002864You've found your friend group if no one flinches at the casual uses of "faggot" or "retard" in conversations.
>>25002864
>>25005820>>25005876I've read and liked:On food and cooking.Never split the difference.Fooled by randomness.Factfulness.Adult children of emotionally immature parents. Also like to read fiction as every other book to contain my autism, I liked the process. Like a dog. Did not like the illiad, it didnt feature the wooden horse and the entire book is building up to a fight that gets spoiled by the name of the last chapter/song.
Would honestly love to do this with a bunch of /lit/izens but I know it'll never happen
>>25006211anon..just let it go.
>>25006434it'd be pretty cool to meet SOME of you.
