okay 2026 didnt have the best start, I'm man enough to admit that. Thats why from now on I will officially following the Chinese calendar. The year of the Horse starts in February 17, 2026 and it is no doubt going to be my year!
Everyone talks about 9/11/2001, yet nobody mentions the 1993 WTC bombing. Why was the World Trade Centre such a favoured target of Islamic jihadists? I know the WTC had a lot of Wall Street-affiliated offices, and that the entire western economy tanked as a result of 9/11, but I'm confused as to why the attacks were a major part of world economic history on par w/ the 2008 crash. Are there any books that touch on this?
>>25008361biggie talked about it once
>>25008376Biggie fucked my mom and as a direct consequence I hate him and hope he's having a terrible time in hell.
>>25008320It's close enough around 310. I just took a shit before a race. An amazing feeling.
>>25008361Uncertainty moves money out of venture investments into more safe assets like bonds or gold.
>>25008383>I hate him and hope he's having a terrible time in hell.He is probably having a great time desuhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkiN4P2xP5E
>>25008361dude it was the biggest building in nyc it's pretty much that simple dude, just look at how huge it is over the 90s nyc skyline. now with shit like hudson yards and all those billionaires row buildings, downtown doesn't look as huge, but at the time it was massive. the new tower is the same height, and it is huge, but the city had a huge building boom for the last 20 years.
>>25008361>he entire western economy tanked as a result of 9/11nonsense, the american economy was shit at the time cuz the dotcom bubble just popped. in fact, if one were paranoid, one might think 9/11 was a distraction or excuse to do government spending on wars and things as a stimulus.
I bought Mason and Dixon yesterday, what am I in for Pynch bros?
Isn't it depressing, the number of things which try to get by still on moth-eaten prestige from their past? Mainstream media, movies, pop music, classical music, video games, comic books, literature, most fashion brands, big award shows like the grammys and the oscars...the 90s ended more than a quarter century ago but in many ways the public sphere comes off like its zombie self shambling around unaware that its skin and flesh has rotted off and people can see the bones.
So regarding this book right. The climax is obviously going to be 9/11 right? It moves linearly in time pretty consistently so I reckon it. It's at the point where it's discussing the mid-'90s; I read Aberration in the Heartland of the Real a few years ago and was in an OKC phase for quite awhile so I'm just expecting the book to mention the OKC or Timothy McVeigh at any moment now. As a TOTAL ASIDE by the way, my mum got me these really nice Champion-brand socks for Christmas and they're some excellent socks. Just thought I'd share LOL.
>>25008448. The Grammys haven't been good since the '00s. Compare whatever milquetoast bossa nova slop Billie Eilish has been nominated for with the likes of Madonna's "Hung Up," Eminem, Green Day...'00s era megahits y'know. There's no amazing dance or pop music coming out anymore, totally forgetting rock music which is just totally dead in 2026. Now it's all boring shit like Billie Eilish (she's had a total departure from her exciting first album) and downright irredeemable garbage like Drake and the entirety of the genre of reggaeton. Completely different in tone and quality.

Just woke up catberg now she wants pets
I am so fat. Someone please just put me down already Sparky is defective

First all-nighter of the year, although it might not really count because I woke up at like 8pm yesterday
>>25008597I've lost count of the number of all nighters I've done so far. It's several.
>>25008597>I woke up at like 8pm yesterdayhow did that happen?
>>25008602Well it can’t be more than ten. You lost count before ten?
>>25008612I had been going to sleep around ~6ish but lost track of time and went to sleep at like 11 am. Product of NEETing
>>25008617I just haven't been paying attention.
Last night I fell asleep at like 8pm and I got up today at 4am.
>>25008618>went to sleep at like 11 amwouldn’t that make that your first all-nighter?
>>25008626By all-nighter I mean staying up throughout the night and the rest of the following day
I met an onlyfans whore off of a dating app, she was on her period so I only got to make out with her and then she blew me while I fingered her asshole, hawked a loogie on my index so I could really knuckle in there. I've been death gripping since 12 so I had to beat myself off when I got bored and then came in her mouth. she had like a cheeky smile on her face, I realised she was planning on snow balling me so I refused to kiss her, she spit in her hand and then she went to the bathroom to freshen up. Period blood kinda smells like a pork shoulder roast. This event has brought my tally to: 3 cam girls/onlyfans sluts 3 twinks ages 18 to 204 girls from dating apps 4 female to male transgenders 2 fattiesNot entirely satisfied with the numbers. I may need to lower my standards and proceed with either more fatties, more twinks or biological women who have suffered the effects of testosterone for longer than my usual targets.
>>25008636Get an STD test brother
>>25008636don’t think i’ve had pork shoulder roast before but period blood smells awful. or weirdly if it’s a girl you’ve been in a relationship with for a while it smells sort of good for like 2 days every three months.
The fuck am I listening to? Why do I like this? It's oddly chill.
>>25008315I've lived a shitty life and I have nothing to show for it
>>25008636>>25008687sex haver's be gone, this is not your realm.
>>25008716you have all the great friends you made on 4chan though !we love (you) Anon !
I swallowed instead of spitting it out. It was thick and globby and got stuck in my throat a little and made my tongue tingle. It wasn't as salty as I expected.
>>25008694What brought you to suddenly listen to this industry classic, anon?
>>25008736It's not sudden, but I have the same thoughts every time I listen to it.
>>25008717 first anon probably has more in common with you than he does me.
>>25008429Holy shit I told you about d00mscroll yesterday and you listened to it? Goddamn. I haven't heard that version, the other version was good.
>>25008766d00mscroll is on the front page of the apple music "new" page it's not like it's some obscure shit u need to get hipped to by some dude on /mu/ lol
>>25008772It literally was. The first album came out last year like mid November and basically no one listened to it at all. Vol 1. I guess the hype looking shit cover got people to pay attention to it, meh.
>>25008780>>25008772And looking at the meta stats, they don't even like the best songs on the album. Neat.
>>25008772>jai paul>diiv>two shellprobably doesn’t operate from the front page of apple music
>>25008794no he operates from the "electronic" page instead where those all trended when they were new and now are probably in the "essential albums" section jai paul def is i don't feel like scrolling for the other ones. i hate to break it to u, but the shit u listen to isn't special. doesn't mean it's bad, but, yeah.
Honestly I like phonk music. I went through a short phonk phase a few years ago but I kinda stopped listening to it once YouTube stopped recommending it to me you know? It was at the same time I was listening to shit like Jedi Mind Tricks and Spaceghostpurrp, didn't last super long but there's defo something to low fi, underground hiphop. I'll check out that d00mscrvll project for sure even though I've never really listened to Diplo before. Didn't he do a collab with CHVRCHES? Idk.
>>25008802feel like i hit a nerve or something here was just meant to be a vague dig at apple music
>>25008803Phonk is okay. I've been getting into the slowed and reverbed stuff lately. But Gesafflestien is mostly what I want at the end of the day. I was quite surprised when I found out normies liked that shit. Reminds me of Akira and riding around a military base on 250mg of edibles with my brother in the middle of winter, sleeping on his kind of comfy couch with no pillow or blanket, and getting into a fist fight with him that night, which ended in a wild overhand that dented his fridge and jostled the damn thing so vigorously an ancient container of milk spilled into his vegetable crisper.
>>25008814why hate on apple music? the "essential albums" on their "indie" page is basically /mu/core hits, /mu/core all came from pitchfork anyways, it's not like any of it was organic.
>>25008856it’s just a bit cringe not that i really expect you to get it
>>25008871ya listening to /mu/core is cringe i'll give u that
>>25008876Always has been.

If you realize there are hundreds of thousands of people who are genuinely so insane that they can look at something and see something else, does it count as existential horror?Because I'm sure feeling something seeing all these people who watch that video of a woman turning away from and not hitting an agent and swear up and down it shows her turning towards and hitting him. I'm just not sure if existential horror is the right word or not, but realizing you're surrounded by hundreds of thousands of people who are completely checked out from reality seems existentially horrific to me.
This album is pretty sick : https://youtu.be/Q27XdQtnqb8
>>25009211About to go make some coffee right now.
>>25009213See, the public debates that result from these incidents are just cancer of the worst sort. This is intentional and I'm not participating any more.
>>25009213Or maybe, when someone has a gun pointed at you, you shouldn't drive a car and be surprised you got shot. I'm honestly amazed this is at all controversial.
>>25009246Both the driver and the shooter are stupid.
>>25009246He drew and immediately fired as she was driving past him.>I'm honestly amazed this is at all controversial.Life must be interesting being a retard. Some complicated things are simpler, and some simple things are much more complicated.
I'm grateful I've made friends by being myself yet I feel like I'm lying to them all the same. It nearly sounds like a different person. Was it truly that so easy for me to be happy?
>>25009213You're a deeply disturbed, evil person. Your mind is completely saturated by media propaganda. It never occurs to you that you might be affected to some degree so you never develop any immunity so you become a completely mindless tool of evil.
>>25009252Yes.>>25009253Cool man, dude had a gun and an official government position. Don't be an idiot around people like that. This is fake manufactured ideological drama to distract from a variety of things, and I think your strong opinions about an incredibly minor and stupid incident is one of the biggest problems we face today.
>>25009256>You're evil for thinking that murdering a mother in the street is wrong and for believing your lying eyes
>>25009259>Immediate appeal to empathyDamn bro, what's it like being tented fingers laughing maniacally with a cat while kicking puppies evil because you have a big feeling that overrides all logic and threat assessment when you feel big?
>>25009258>Dude feds can just murder you if you annoy them, it's no big deal.>Why are you getting mad at a fed for murdering someone for annoying them? You and >>25009263 are kinda proving my point about there being hundreds of thousands of insane people completely detached from reality wandering around.
>>25009259Every time. You don't even know how to pretend you're capable of discussing anything.>>25009265Does it occur to you to question why this specific example got you riled up while you ignored all the hundreds of other similar examples for years, examples that happen not to be as politically charged or promoted by propagandists? When idiots get aggressive with enforcers it often leads to tragedy, true in every country in the world with laws. You are not Batman and Batman would end up getting himself shot.
>>25009263You're telling me... that someone appealed to MORALITY, when you brought up MORALITY... my God...
>>25009259Might makes right.
>>25009265That's nice and all, but the irony is you're throwing an elaborate temper tantrum because you have a big feeling and could not give a fuck about anything that doesn't pull at your heart strings. You sure have a lot of silly opinions you feel passionately about, and lack the reading comprehension to understand a single incident with an extremely small scope is not worth your attention in the context of efficient empathetic intervention. This is the equivalent of being mad you stubbed your toe waking up in the morning, and ranting at your coworkers who are about to get fired about it because you feel strongly that you should have not stubbed your toe. Right or wrong, you are not looking at the big picture. There are things worth caring about, this is not one on either side, and the fact you're histrionic over common sense around people with guns makes me question your judgement.
>>25009273Your feeling do not dictate what is moral. It's like you're trying to emphasize how completely and utterly basic PR techniques control your mind. You're like a parody and there's a good chance you are.
>>25009271>while you ignored all the hundreds of other similar examples for yearsI didn't, though. I still remember Ryan Whitaker, for fuck's sake.>When idiots get aggressive with enforcers it often leads to tragedyOnly in authoritarian shitholes.
>>25009276So it's moral to murder mothers in the street, then?
>>25009273Empathy has next to nothing to do with morality. It is incredibly easy to be unethical for the sake of morality using empathy as the justification, and coincidentally, it's the exact trick being used to make you pissed off over basically nothing.
>>25009283How is what I said an appeal to empathy rather than an appeal to morality? Do you or do you not think that shooting mothers in the street is moral?
>>25009277>look, I'm not a brainwashed retard, I also followed the mob that other time we all agreed to get hysterically outragedNot a good example of not being controlled by media narratives. Was George Floyd murdered?>Only in authoritarian shitholes.Objectively, demonstrably false. It's true in the socialist utopia of Iceland. You live in a complete fantasy and the fantasy changes any time corporate media wants it to.>>25009282This post is a good example of pure, unapologetic evil. There is no way to justify it. No matter how outraged I would be about this event I would never become the creature you are.
>>25009289The fucking guy was in the legal and moral right. Avoiding causing harm, like he did last time he was run over by a terrorist is much preferable but this is within what can be expected from situations like that.
>>25009289I think reducing a relatively stupid and minor incident to an incredulous appeal to empathy for the purposes of pushing a political agenda is immoral, yes. I could give a fuck, you have not presented enough variables for an objective determination in either direction, and the fact you think this should have any sway whatsoever means you are unqualified to have this opinion, and shouldn't be sharing it here.Any questions?
>>25009164or don’t - me i’m good.
>>25009290>Understanding or caring about anything means falling for a media narrativeI watched the footage of the murders. Where is the narrative?>It's true in the socialist utopia of IcelandLink me to stories of Icelandic feds murdering people just for annoying them.>You live in a complete fantasyWeird fucking projection.>It's evil to think that murdering mothers in the street is morally wrong!Schizo.>>25009295He was not.>>25009296You are unable to answer how it's an appeal to empathy rather than to morality. You're floundering here and spewing out random schizophrenic gobbledy gook. If you enjoy making a fool of yourself I suggest you continue.
https://youtu.be/K_Bt7nWmI_w?si=F-MIew2SSnyn1OPSthis mogwai track that i i’ve known since i was about 15 is astonishing in how it still sounds like it came out yesterday to me.are you still into it?cos i’m still into iti guess adolescent relationships really never change one bit
I ingest all my words, and if they have no taste, or one that I already know I get bored.
>>25009295Also, to emphasize how very little you know about the law, here are examples,Villanueva v. Cleveland>“[the court has consistently found] use of deadly force to stop a slow moving vehicle unreasonable when the officers could have easily stepped out of the vehicle’s path to avoid danger”Acosta v. City and County of San Francisco>“[A] reasonable officer, who had positioned himself facing the driver so he was standing closer to the side than the dead center of the car, would have recognized that he could avoid being injured when the car moved slowly, by simply stepping to the side.”Ross committed premeditated murder by positioning himself in front of Good's vehicle during an illegal arrest. He witnessed her turn the steering wheel all the way away from him, and advanced toward the hood of the car as she put it in drive, so that he could murder her for annoying him as he planned. He then went to the hospital despite not even being hit let alone injured, in order to back his bogus self-defense claim. This isn't even political; these is an accurate retelling of the events. There are hundreds of thousands of people defending a murderer who committed premeditated murder on video for solely political reasons. People who are outraged are outraged for moral reasons.
>>25009304All you said is "mother". There are so many hypotheticals that would make it justified from an ethical and moral standpoint not only is it insanely stupid to present the situation like that, it's completely devoid of the tools necessary to have any authority on the subject whatsoever. It's an appeal to empathy, stupid anon, because "mother" flattens every possible variable to whatever conceptual category the word "mother" shares in the mind of a subject, and almost universally that's a positive association, because you don't care about my opinion. You don't even know what it is. But you want people to share your opinion and are acting in a deceitful manner to do so. Or you're too stupid to understand semiotics, could be both.
>>25009309Wow, funny that your entire nonquoted part is not only insanely biased, it isn't even pretending to present any neutrality. You took every possibility to use every rhetorical trick to make your side seem right, and the irony is, you are doing exactly what you're complaining about, and either too stupid or too evil to realize it.
>>25009314Do you not understand how the English language works? A noun describing the victim was necessary to complete that sentence. Would it have also been an appeal to empathy if I said a "woman"? Would it not have been too nondescript if I had simply said a "person"? I said mother because what the agent did was morally wrong; he killed a woman, who was also a mother, with no justification to do so. That is an appeal to morality rather than empathy. Your pedantry is psychotic.>acting in a deceitful mannerI haven't attempted to deceive anyone, nor have I said anything untrue.
>>25009321What I said is simply true. It's on video for all to see. When reality is biased, should you lie to maintain neutrality? What I'm complaining about is people watching these videos and denying the things they objectively show to be true.
>>25009327>>25009325Anon who doesn't understand philosophy or ethics or semiotics, do you really want to spend 3 hours screaming over this dumb shit while I lecture you on both rhetoric and philosophy, entirely ignoring your stupid hyperbolic temper tantrum, or do you want to accept that you do not know about rhetoric, you do not know about semiotics, and you have not realized I am not discussing the situation, I am critiquing your argumentation.I could go either way.
>>25009335>I lecture youYou've only made an ass of yourself.>or do you want to accept that you do not know about rhetoric, you do not know about semioticsI apparently know more than you since you can't tell the difference between empathy and morality, nor the difference between bias and reality.>I could go either way.I mean there's only one likely route here; you continue making an ass of yourself. Unless you miraculously having some sort of miraculous epiphany about how you look.
Prove that murder is wrong.
>>25009327>What I said is simply true.So you're somehow physically incapable of even hypothetically imagining different perspectives or worldviews? Is it really hard for you to grasp how this means you're incapable of discussing anything?>>25009304>>25009309>When did you stop beating your wife?I don't..>ok but when did you stop?never did>So you think it's ok to beat women?Exactly like a parody. I don't agree with your premises, you can't conceive of questioning them. There is no discussion possible.
>>25009344>So you're somehow physically incapable of even hypothetically imagining different perspectives or worldviews? We're talking about something recorded from multiple angles, here. There is no wiggle room.>Weird nonsensical wife beating analogySchizophrenic. Again, you are disconnected from reality, and operating on some wavelength where just because something objectively happened doesn't mean it's true or real.
>>25009343Prove you're not a camel
>>25008315Am I crazy? Legally, no. There's no term for my condition.
>>25009342I am an ass. You do not know what the words mean. We cool if you leave it alone otherwise I'm going to go Socrates through Kant describing what ethics are, how they work, and why they're important, then go Saussure through and Deleuze/Derrida explaining what semiotics are, and break down what your argument consists of, how it functions, and why you should not argue like that. Because, to be frank, I do not give a fuck about this situation in any aspect due to an economy of scale, and I find people hyper fixated on this crap not only morally reprehensible, but fundamentally unpalatable, because it's not just that you're stupid, it's that you have a blanket wrapped around your head and feel entitled to lecture other people about your fundamentally empty pop discourse opinions.
>>25009349Refusing to think is not a virtue you disgusting fucking freak. The videos show an insane woman pretending she's above the law because redditors like you told her she is. The guy is in front of the car for less than two seconds and moving from one side to the other before he gets hit. The insane lady is giggling and looking straight at him while she hits him.The actual goal of the propaganda is to justify subverting democracy and the rule of law. You have no goal, you don't think.
>>25009344>>25009349Also, a more accurate analogy>This is a video of you beating your wife. *Video of you objectively beating your wife*>You are evil and making appeals to empathy. I don't agree with your premises.>... that is you, that is your wife, and you are beating her. *Video of you objectively beating your wife continues to play*>Why do you care about my wife anyway? You shouldn't care about such things. You're being manipulated by the media and know nothing of philosophy.>>25009366>otherwise I'm going to goBy all means, schizo out. I'm interested at the prospect of peering into the mind of a madman.
>>25009371>before he gets hit>while she hits himThis is not what the videos show. Again, you're flatly denying objective truth. You are disconnected from reality.>The actual goal of the propaganda is to justify subverting democracy and the rule of lawVery amusing coming from someone I suspect is a migapedo.
>>25009258can’t fathom ever letting an idea like this settle inside me. that’s a public servant you know? i get second-hand embarrassment seeing people think this way.
>>25009366Nta, but I want to see you do exactly what you just said you would>going to go Socrates through Kant describing what ethics are, how they work, and why they're important, then go Saussure through and Deleuze/Derrida explaining what semiotics are, and break down what your argument consists of, how it functions, and why you should not argue like that. >[W]hy you should not argue like that.I have noted you end at Kant and restart at Saussure, so I presume several things about your understanding of the eristic dialectic already.Try to keep it short
>>25009387He's clearly insane anyway >>25009376
>>25009376Valuing actual methods to approach the truth is not schizophrenia. Pretending your interpretation of an event is the only possible one is pathological. You have some kind of media induced disease that makes you completely incapable of thinking about any subject honestly. Discussions are far beyond you since they rest on having a thought process.>>25009380>This is not what the videos show. What do you even mean retard? I'm watching the guy cross in front of the car at the same speed he walked around the rest of the car, he pauses for a fraction of a second, looks at her face and then the camera drops. From other angles you can see him switching to the gun, fire and get hit in like 250ms. It's established earlier that it's slippery enough he doesn't have a secure foothold so the attempt to step right while aiming causes a fall. At the start of the fall he takes a shot.In this description I added no subjective judgements about what is right or wrong, just the events as I see them. Are you capable of that?
>>25009384What idea retard? Basic respect for the rule of law?
>>25009401Anon, this is a libertine board
>>25009387Eh it'll be lengthy and I'd have to type it on my phone. It was less about explaining my personal understanding and more about presenting a comprehensive foundation that an idiot could except. Saussure is just where I like to start with semiotics after Plato because talking about like Wittgenstein fundamentally breaks people's brains, and it sets up my favorite ontological argument: The Infallible Philibuster, which consists of Saussure's Sabre and Kant's cannon.you can guess what it consists of if I say ordinal intersubjective authority verified linguistically, and an appeal to the utilitarian aspects of the imperative seperate from the epistemology. But it does require some rather stupid presumptions before it's infallible.>>25009376>>25009395I'm insane. Okay, why? Break it down, using a thesis statement and supporting argumentation. But here's the rub, you can insult me all you want, but you can't use the insults to prove your point.

>>25009401there are also laws that protect you from police you know

>>25009410And they don't fucking apply. They should have applied to Daniel Shaver who obeyed every command but didn't get any justice. They should not have applied to Floyd but the deranged mob managed to push it through with pressure from some corrupt propaganda campaign we will never know the ultimate goals of or if it was instigated by foreign interests. In yt bodycam videos almost every time anyone attempts to even slightly obstruct cops they are charged with a felony and deaths that result from a felony are the responsibility of the felon. Her behaviour is far beyond what most of those people did.>>25009404You're right obviously but this is way too autistic. Having some semblance of methodology and consistency to your thoughts doesn't need close to all that.
>>25009409some anons are just allergic to books and art https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2MFfAo98KY>>25009411you don't want to type that out for that anon as he has read more Kant than you. you are missing his passive references while trying to namedrop your way out of this. he has name dropped a book on that very subject, by an authority on Kant, and he might make you live through it read a book instead of being mad on the internet
>>25009411>>25009421I’m going to weigh in and say I wouldn’t be put off by this neekish poster. And (idk if it even really landed but) ‘he has read more Kant than you’ isn’t as much of a scary deterrent to a level-headed person.
>>25009397>Pretending your interpretation of an event is the only possible one is pathological. That's the thing; it isn't "my interpretation" of the event, it's objective truth captured on video from numerous angles. There isn't any subjectivity in it, only objective recording confirming exactly what I said. You also didn't accurately describe his POV; he advanced toward her car when she backs up.>In this description I added no subjective judgements about what is right or wrong, just the events as I see them. Are you capable of that? You're asking if I can describe an act of cold blooded murder in a neutral enough way to where it doesn't come across outright as murder, while omitting details that would make it clearer? I can do the former if I were to emotionally distance myself from the event, but I can't do the latter because I'm not a sick fuck or deluded.>>25009404>I'm insane. Okay, why? Break it downBecause you emphatically believe that objective reality doesn't necessarily lend itself to being true.
>>25009420Hey I'm king 'tism, what can I say?>>25009421The anon who asked? Sure, I'm happy to chat about it, but the anon who asked is obviously on another level, which is why I broke down the reasoning behind Saussure and what the Infallible Philibuster consisted of. But "didacticly" here means when the other anon, the hysterical one, replies I'm going to break down what they're saying. Oh, look at that, good timing.>>25009427And why do you say that? That is a thesis, but it requires supporting arguments. And before you begin, I'm going to warn you that is not what I believe personally or on the argument I'm going to inhabit, but do with that what you will.

Why do you think that's relevant? We're talking about 3 seconds in total that he stood in front of the car. Is she justified in accelerating toward him if he took a step towards the car? You're completely incoherent.>an act of cold blooded murderSo you're confirming you can't be objective and have no clue what the word means. Great. I'm still 50/50 on if you're a parody. She accelerated past and away from him. Finally we're talking about objective facts and you just flat out refuse to acknowledge them. She hit him, it's not a hypothetical or a subjective judgement. This is a fact that caused verifiable injuries. The escalation happened in much less than a second. There's plenty of wiggle room about her motivations but not the fact that she did hit him. The most reasonable narrative that maximizes the benefit of doubt given to her is that she underestimated how much the car would accelerate because previously she had little grip. But her motivation is irrelevant to any judgement about if the officer was in the right, morally or legally.

TIL in India they have a candy that's like jolly ranchers but made of turds.
>>25009664>But her motivation is irrelevant to any judgement about if the officer was in the right, morally or legally. It not. There is a very potential hypothetical where both of their motivations are definitely of legal impact. To start from the ridiculous: We don't know they didn't fuck once in Rio. We can't verify one of their spouses had not met one of them as strangers on a train. We have no way of telling what level of charges a DA could or would bring against either, or what exact evidence would be legally admissable if any charges are brought, but both parties' motivation would count for a lot of potential charges (eg her intention to commit a crime impacts a self defense case for him, his motivation to unlawfully detain her might have mitigated battery). How you think anyone's motivation wouldn't be morally relevant to a moral judgment of the interaction is frankly just bizarre: everyone's motivation would be relevant to the others' actions-- so not just her but his fellow officers and others near by having their own motivations is bound to affect how he forms his own motivation. Humans bend their morals all the time due to social influences; it's absurd to suggest her motivation isn't part of how he formed his moral judgment or won't be part of how others form theirs because that's simply not how humans form moral judgments.

>>25009738It's not relevant to any narrative presented so far. Nobody has suggested this was a complicated scheme set up to kill a former lover. The apparently relevant demonstrable facts are simple. A woman in a car accelerated fast toward a cop giving him less than half a second to react. If he's reasonable he probably regrets shooting but in the moment given the situation it's reasonable, lawful and morally justifiable. What a perfect supercop would do is not relevant like speculation about his biases are not relevant.

>>25009825Any narrative presented so far is not actually part of the legal judgement process. It's not you who's going to be the judge of what's admissable or even charged. Nobody mentioned a supercop but you, and none of what you said makes anyone present's motivations not part of either equation. In the legal process it is part of due process that both sides and the judge question everyone's motivation: it's generally part of jury instructions too. None of what you said will stop people including her motivation in their moral judgement either. Legally and morally it's very likely her motivations will be relevant, even beyond her motivations that day alone, and legally, it's highly unlikely your opinion has any bearing on current or future jurisprudence or practice. Please never talk to the police without a lawyer-- I mean this not as legal advice but as an insult to your intelligence and understanding of due process.

>>25009864now you’ve done it
>>25009853>Any narrative presented so far is not actually part of the legal judgement process. There will be no legal process because there is no reasonable suspicion of a crime. If she intended to kill him or not is not relevant to whether he committed a crime. If he is biased towards her or suffering from PTSD from the last time he was run over is not relevant to the question of if he committed a crime or acted reasonably. The actual fucking question both morally and legally is if someone in his situation would reasonably consider the lady a credible threat to his life. Speculation about her or his internal monologues have nothing to do with that when the actual event was filmed. What "people" (retards) will think is also completely irrelevant to either question.
>>25009877>here is no reasonable suspicion of a crime.>If she intended to kill him or not is not relevant to whether he committed a crimeThis is just untrue. That's what self defense cases are. You can cry about it, but yes, it is legally entirely relevant. That's why there are pleas for that. Daily reminder that a charge of assault is for fear of battery.

I find that patently dishonest, and your refusal to understand due process to be disingenuous, and your account of my dishonesty to be implausible. >>25009990>You didn't actually concede that until nowI tried to explain myself from the start and you just dishonestly refused to engage with any of it, just mindlessly repeating over and over that judges tend to look at motivation. But the threat of the first hit is enough in that situation so we don't have to speculate about what she would have done next. Her motivation is irrelevant. How is it not? What intent mitigates the threat retard? The government has already made a statement and he will not be charged.
>>25010000>What intent mitigates the threat retard?Again, an intent to swerve would. There are thousands of intents which would amplify charges and many which would mitigate it. You also seem to have sidestepped the intent to escape unlawful arrest: it doesn't matter the restaurant owner thinks you're stealing food and armed and likely to stab you, once he blocks the doorway, he is committing false imprisonment, and your using force or threats of force while being falsely imprisoned is mitigated by your imposed circumstances and your motivation to escape. Or were you hoping to tacitly concede that too by never addressing my point?>>25009998Yeah, even if it gets charged, it's going to be months to years of venue and jury selection issues. If he intended to falsely imprison her later has no bearing on the situation as it stands when she attacks.Just name one fucking example of intent that could possibly mitigate the threat of the car hitting you .25 seconds later. Not "thousands", just one fucking example.

>>25010032>Standing in front of the car for 3 seconds inStanding in front of the car with the purpose of stopping it for a nanosecond is false imprisonment if you do not have a reason to detain them. You refuse to acknowledge that and there is nothing to be discussed here if you refuse to acknowledge the basic legal process involved.

>>25010040>Standing in front of the car with the purpose of stopping it for a nanosecond is false imprisonment if you do not have a reason to detain them.No judge would ever agree and it's not relevant to if he was justified. If he had actually falsely imprisoned her the threat would still have been the same and the response still justified. You're being dishonest again.>You refuse to acknowledgeJust give a fucking example retard.A court won't randomly start exploring the internal mental lives of people when no question being disputed rests on anything like that.
>>25010043You're not resisting arrest for not stepping out of your vehicle in the majority of states, and a lot of states you're not even obliged to roll down the window if they ask nicely. They would need a warrant or a comission of an obvious felony to arrest her, and to have an intent to arrest her. So both sides's intent would matter in that case, especially as she was not under arrest or subject to a warrant at the time that we know of.

>>25010023Why? Neither of you are listening or care, and one person is brain damaged.

I wish the Kant guy would come back. Him and the other Kant guy were at least fun, this is just tragic.
>>25010064You keep pretending your statements become magically true just because you say them. Like you don't understand logic on any level. No justice system would ever consider walking in front of a car for three seconds detainment. Just like the example where someone obstructs an exit is not a crime until it's made clear over time that you weren't just stopping for 3 seconds because your balls itched or whatever. It is not relevant if he detained her or not. Nothing rests on it. You don't understand how to be coherent about anything.>>25010071Why do you think that's relevant? How does this mitigate the actual threat to officer in the moment?>oh, actually this was just a ticket so you're allowed to run me over now
>>25010071so your argument is that ur allowed to run over cops if they cite you for a traffic violation? the left has gone absolutely nuts, lmao. get a better martyr dude.
>>25010071>That's a local cop job.If they make it a job for the local cops again, they're going to boot the car where it is and tell the owner they've days to pay the fine lol

>>25010084More room for more interesting drinks.
>>25010086Like what? What are you missing out on?

>>25010077I'm not pretending any statements are true because I'm saying them. The US legal system isn't going to change for either of us, and trying to work out what the legal conclusion involves while ignoring the legal system and due process is a pointless task you seem to have assigned yourself. >>25010080If they're traffic cops, no. If they're ICE officers trying to hand out traffic citations or CIA agents operating on home soil, or any other kind of obvious overreach, you would have significant legal protection, though no practical protection. >>25010093
it will be hilarious to see the democrats and other leftists crying when trump drops the iranian islamists lmao don't they ever feel a little embarrassed for constantly defending tyrants and criminals? no apparently not.
>>25010096>I'm not pretending any statements are true because I'm saying them.He says with no reason, logic or hint of thought process to back it up, pretending just saying this makes it true.>while ignoring the legal system and due processno uYou are the most mindless freak I have ever encountered.>you would have significant legal protectionNot against attempted murder. She is also dead so her possible legal protection in some hypothetical situation is not relevant.
>>25010118Oh sorry, you got me, I wrote the entirely of the US legal system and that's why they implemented it, because I said so and therefore it became true. Here I was thinking it evolved out of the English common law system through the Constitution and the powers of judiciary, legislative and executive branches of government at both a state and federal level. I'm sure they'll give it up tomorrow now you found out I wrote the whole thing. Call the newspapers.
Two retards fighting
>>25010096>>25010118I haven't really read both sides of your sped fight but I'm going to give you guys some real common sense advice:>You are not a superhero or a main character, if someone with a gun approaches you be it governmental or civilian and you are not armed AND you know they want to detain you or take your wallet, give it to them and comply. You are better off alive and in a cell or with less money than you are dead. It's literally not that hard, even corporations tell you if you are being robbed to not do anything and just give the robbers what they demand.
>>25010131You can't be honest, your mind is complete mush.Explain your reasoning, where do you get your retard shit from? For example name any case where a few seconds blocking an exit / car counted as detainment, anywhere in the world. What do you base your braindead shit on? If you're gonna post, present some fucking reasoning.

>>25010113As a fellow Republican, and for the record explicitly noting that this text was not written by AI, I can state with near-absolute certainty, based on observation of consistent behavioral patterns and historical precedence in political discourse, that it will predictably and verifiably provoke a significant, measurable, and demonstrably intense display of emotional responses—including but not limited to frustration, indignation, consternation, and public verbal expressions of disapproval—among Democrats and other left-leaning political actors when former President Trump takes actions directly targeting or otherwise engaging with the faction of Iranian Islamists referenced in numerous intelligence reports, and furthermore, despite the objectively apparent ethical, logical, and reputational implications of defending individuals widely recognized as tyrants and criminals across multiple independent sources, these same political actors appear, according to both qualitative and quantitative indicators, to experience little if any discernible embarrassment, shame, or cognitive dissonance in connection with their repeated advocacy or defense of said actors.
>>25010150Jannies harassed him and anyone who ever mentioned him so he stopped mentioning his writing and became one of the worst Buddhist posters. I got banned once for mentioning his book, "self-promotion".
>>25010151>It doesn't make the cop's response any less justified. It actually does justify his actions, that's the point. If she had a gun that wasn't loaded she basically make the mistake of pointing it at a cop while trying to give up and getting shot. She panicked, tried to get away, when backing up didn't work, she tried go forward and at that point the cop is only thinking about his life.
>>25010162Her intent does not justify his actions. Driving the car towards him does.
>>25009504hot
>>25010151Kinda crazy how you can say that its plausible that she panicked but its not plausible the cop who was ran over 6 months ago gets a PTSD flashback and also panics when a car starts moving in his direction.Honestly, where is your humanity? It's awful what happened but that officer is also a human.
>>25010166>Her intent does not justify his actions. He didn't know his intent which is why any court would through out prosecution of him under probable cause.

>>25010220>Arguments of emotion Like calling me silly? I understood you're a different retard but neither of you tried to pretend you can think. This post has some semblance of structure beyond anything the other tranny presented though.>>25010223You didn't tell me about your ice cream maker. You told me how crazy you think it is that people aren't as seething and deranged as you about a cop defending himself.
I honestly miss the 90s and early 2000s where everything was relatively normal, safe, and cheap that most people didn't really feel the need to talk about politics outside of election years and even then if the other side lost it wasn't treated as if they are coming 1 step closer to some sort of progrom.
>>25010236Do you want to hear about my icecream maker? Will you park it if I tell you? It's really neat.

The fuck is President Trump's problem regarding Greenland? I can't imagine even the most ardent conservative on here supports whatever the fuck is going on there with his threats of a military takeover.
>>25010266>I grew potatoes in that stack thing there was an infographic floating around about. The infinite potato generator. One by one foot squares, six inches tall, stacked up. >>25010274I have other stories about my potatoes. They were so outrageously effective growing them that I had too many potatoes. You never think there's too many, but that's how many I had. I started giving them to people all the time every time I came over. No one ate them, then one day my neighbour DID eat them and asked for more. No problem, I pulled a giant sack out from my basement and gave them to him. Turns out they were damp and moldy as shit. He thought I was being spiteful because I knew he never ate them, but I mostly didn't care what happened to them and wanted them out of my basement. We laughed about it after an awkward 3 months of walking on egg shells.
>>25010271You can't point at any actual threat, just reiterations of US policy. If their interests are threatened they will respond so don't threaten their interests, be an ally like you say you are.

>>25010271>>25010291China has economic agreements to mine rare-earth and uranium from Greenland. It was signed in 2018 and basically no one really cared until a couple of "merchant marine" vessels started sailing too close to the US border pinging it with long distance radars and drones. The government thinks that China is sending spy vessels disgusted as merchant vessels to research America's defense grid. Also, I could be wrong about this, but I'm fairly sure some Chinese ice breaker ships are also pinging our northern border rader a lot as they plow through the ice in an attempt to make an artic route directly to Greenland to avoid the Panama Canal taxes and searches.
>>25010293>>25010239You are the illiterate tranny that post was directed at.>>25010289I've been experimenting with growing different things and the problem is always the same. I have no peppers or a mountain of peppers that go bad in two weeks.

>>25010271I think there are multiple layers to this1) realpolitik desire to have control over a large portion of the Arctic Ocean because it might become a viable and lucrative trade route due to sea ice melting2) personal ego-driven desire to etch his name into history by expanding the territory of the United States 3) personal gripes with NATO and Europe due to what he perceives as their unwillingness to defend themselves without tons of American aid3a) perception that if he's forceful enough about the issue NATO/Europe will not even do anything in response and just let it happen3b) desire to be seen as a dealmaker, possibly in some kind of ploy to threaten military action and then graciously accept a peaceful deal in which Greenland becomes American in exchange for monetary or economic concessions, showing the world that he's willing to graciously back down from using force for a good dealSource: my ass
>>25010315Then why quote me asking him to point me to where he told me why I was wrong?
>>25010307No I'm not don't be silly.Anyways, with your peppers, pickle them. Seriously. They're crazy good. What kind of peppers did you grow? Are they easy? I tried growing garlic but the resident retard in my house trampled it for no reason trying to harvest the mustard garlic, which is a neurotoxic weed he decided he wanted to eat because it contained the words "mustard" and "garlic" in it. I let him eat it in eggs or whatever, I found a mystery Tupperware filled with the stuff and told him not to eat random plants or he'd die, but he didn't listen and just got more sneaky.
>>25010218Yup
>>25010312Ah, a learned gentleman. What pitfalls should I avoid? I don't know how the machine works, but it will do the whatever. What things can I put in the icecream? Someone said nuts chocolate banana and peanut butter, but I think that shit might kill the machine on the first try. What kind of theory is there?
>>25010338The way I made it you need to keep churning it over ice until it's mostly frozen, like soft serve, but not crystallized with ice chunks. Then you can put it in the freezer for a couple hours, mash it again, and then I stirred in cherries cooked down in sugar and water and chocolate chips as a kind of ripple. If you want to mix shit in from the start, you prob need to mix it in with the custard and cream.Check what the machine says b/c there's prob a warning label saying no peanut butter or some shit if that keeps fucking up people's shit within warranty
>>25010325I only have paprika right now. The tomato plant was too big and messy for my inside experiments. The paprika is very easy and I like the small tree, thick trunk like a bonzai or something. As an experiment I'm trying to condition it to produce less but more often, staggered flowering. Not sure if that's really even a thing but it's still interesting to play around with it to get familiar with the mechanisms of what causes flowering etc.Pickling sounds good. I made some pretty decent soups with the older ones too.
>>25010323Iunno some one got confused somewhere along the line
>>25010360Got any pics? Can it handle the winter? Sounds stately, like a neat thing I could be proud of and occasionally piss on. I'm not smart enough to do anything like that, plants are this mystifing quantum sort of thing that wilt at my touch and flourish without me. Also, I made the best fucking soup. I did a cook-a-long on /ck/ about it where I got tanked drinking scotch at 10am. Anyways, it was root vegetable. Parsnips, carrots, potatoes, sweet potatoes. Bit of heavy cream. Some chicken stock, blended for texture. Holy fuck was it good.
>>25010389>traditional dinner>WHITE BREAD>ENERGY DRINKVery faux-rustic
>>25010394Sourdough and tawny port, actually. I was getting my peasant on. The energy drink? For vibes, and to make sure I could stay coherent enough to talk to the furnace man who was fixing shit at the same time.
>>25010399>sourdoughI don't think sourdough was a thing during the medieval era but if a peasant had access to white bread he would be accused of stealing the bread or stealing the money. Peasants almost only ever ate brown bread.
>>25010402Damn, anarchonistic. To be honest, I don't really believe in the concept of history, so I guess it's cool. I mean stuff happened at some point, obviously, but the how and the why are so narrativized I just gloss over all but the broad strokes.Anyways, before I go drink a non-alcoholic beer in the shower, any book recommendations on my trip tomorrow? I don't know what will be there. I'm excited to find out. And if you don't have any, have a great night, good luck with your peppers.
>>25010389>Can it handle the winter?Inside yeah. The plan is to build a heated greenhouse. The next plant I want is a few currant bushes I can nurse inside and plant in the garden. They're supposed to survive the cold and give berries in the fall. The food looks good. I tend to just wing it instead of using recipes but I use my decadent capitalist bread machine almost every day and with bread the details matter.

>>25010430>Homemade breadHells yeah, I am starting to make my own Kvass, which I assume will turn into bread at some point. Not the Kvass, but the process of making it will require me to make my own bread.
>>25010238Me too. I remember when the stereotype of liberals was "goofy tree-huggers who think they can solve the world's problems by singing Kum-Ba-Yah" and not "venom-filled monsters who are constantly fantasizing about the deaths of their enemies." The goofiest liberal of 1999 would be considered far-right on today's internet.I remember one of the early signs of everything falling apart was in college when people started astroturfing the idea that colorblindness was "racist." All my life I had been taught that racial discrimination was bad because race wasn't relevant. Now apparently this was bad and I was supposed to constantly notice race everywhere..except when it came to IQ distribution...or crime statistics...or any other kind of group behavior that didn't make blacks look good. Fucking stupid. The whole "racism is cool again" thing would have never happened if liberals hadn't hopped on the "everything is racist, think about race all the time" bandwagon.
I kinda hate how my body looks. I've been lifting consistently for a while but my underlying bone structure is hard to work with. My torso looks like a fridge unless I aggressively lat spread, my pecs only grew at the bottom so my chest looks weirdly underdeveloped, and my abs only became defined at the rib cage while my lower abs remain gross and flabby-looking, leaving me with this bizarre 4-pack thing. On top of all that, the skin on my chest, shoulders, and face is weirdly bumpy, like leather. I get very self conscious at the beach or in public showers because of all of this.
My neighbor turns 18 next month. I'm wondering what he's going to do.
Finally worked up the nerve to talk to this stunner on the bus so I stared at her until she turned toward me at which point I would say hello, only for her to immediately shyly turn away once her eyes met mine, and the moment was over. Sad.
Remember that time half of this board bought some sort of obscure and expensive book on trains in Britain or whatever for meme value?
do artists and writers use prizes and judging panels to get their name out there? even if they're not making that much money from judging content, they are still getting all the participants to look up their name and brand and potentially become more influential; they can also network with other judges and potentially get connections for publishing deals or exhibitions
