>During the preparation for his execution, the executioner, Charles-Henri Sanson, dislodged the bandage securing his shattered jaw, eliciting an anguished scream until his demise.

>Following his beheading, the crowd erupted in applause and jubilant cries, which reportedly endured for fifteen minutes.

Books where the villain gets what they had coming to them while crying like a bitch?

The French Revolution was giga kino and I'm tired of pretending otherwise

elliot rodger when he gets pushed off a ledge he was trying to push a woman off of.

Yeah if you're a degenerate

This didn't happen

>"That was the last straw, I had taken enough insults that night. A dark, hate-fueled rage overcame my entire being, and I tried to push as many of them as I could from the 10-foot ledge. My main target was the girls. I wanted to punish them for talking to the obnoxious boys instead of me. It was one of the most foolish and rash things I ever did, and I almost risked everything in doing it, but I was so drunk with rage that I didn’t care. I failed to push any of them from the ledge, and the boys started to push me, which resulted in me being the one to fall onto the street. When I landed, I felt a snap in my ankle, followed by a stinging pain. I slowly got up and found that I couldn’t even walk. I had to stumble, and stumble I did. I tried to get away from there as I fast as could."

Robespierre did nothing wrong
>>
Robespierre was the only respectable revolutionary and he'd be absolutely horrified at the current state of France. And I say that as a monarchist. He was the only one who actually believed he could make France a better place to live in, instead of being bought out by foreign powers to destroy it and wanting to spread the revolution all across Europe

Depends on your POV.

From the point of view of left (American) bored upper middle classlings who want to mass sacrifice “the people” (who they hate, ever seen a socialist city slicker who’s had his avocado toast burned interact with service staff? Lmao) and use their blood to paint a picture if a dramatic and cathartic revolution, no he didn’t.

From another angle, he single handedly destroyed the revolution, and all the brutality and deaths of later brutal French monarchy and colonialism can be placed at his feet.

He voted against the execution of Marie Antoinette though
>>
>>25013355
>the revolution isn't about brutality and death its about, uh, better social conditions or something
>mass sacrifice is a bad thing, drama and catharsis are bad things, only gradual reform within the system can produce sustainable results
>Bored upper middle classlings. Avocado toast. Brutal French monarchy. Colonialism.

You should read Jean-Clément Martin and Hervé Leuwers, and most importantly a compilation of his speeches. If there are no translations then just ask AI to translate it all. Robespierre is just a scapegoat.
>>

The Revolution was and Robespierre did wrong things but he was not the worst one of the bunch. Herbert and some others make him look like a decent, reasonable man.
>>
I can't really be bothered to have strong opinions about the french revolution. The way I see it, it was just the bourgeoisie and the bureaucratic class created by Louis XIV fighting the ancien regime for the right to exploit the masses.
