Doesn't matter, no compulsory voting so by not voting it is a "vote" in a metaphysical sense, a vote to not participate, which is their right to do so.
>that's a sizable drop which explains the shit approval ratings (even if they are lying about the number, it has to be rather low)
It's low because of the Epstein debacle which he colossally fucked up, many people who voted for him felt betrayed by that, so you're right about that.
>Same as the Obama crowd when they found out how shit he turned out
Trumps unique in that he isn't status quo, Barrack was just status quo but the man is black this time.
>Anyone still supporting Trump ARE the zionists.

> he isn't status quo,
"TRUMP AN OUTSIDER" As irrelevant as it is mostly false. Gameshow host turned politician, he was bought and paid for. Isn't doing much differently from any of the others. The reasons being that he is not allowed. The controllers of the nation killed JFK to make this place their bitch. A gameshow host isn't going to change anything.

Not really, the majority who voted, voted for Trump doesn't matter if there is a large chunk of people who don't vote. Unless you don't actually care about democracy, it seems like you don't.
>gameshow schizo rambling
You can wrestle with reality all you want but you'll always lose.
>Too bad. Reality trumps your opinions.
But reality agrees with me, you don't seem to know much about Zionism other than you think its bad but I bet you don't even know why so many Christian churches have Zion in the name, do you?
>>
>>25021677
If he is European he probably doesn't know that hate speech laws suppressed Christian advocates who wanted to rebuild the Kingdom of Acre to the point that the term "zionist" to him always meant "land for the Jews" when pre-WW2 it meant "Christians retaking Jerusalem".
>>
Friend of mine invited me to go pdrink a coffee with him on Monday. Something's off. He's never done this before and we're both not super close—not anymore—so I doubt that he wants to try a new way to spend time with me. I can't even remember the last time he invited me solo to something, usually it's always with another friend. He told me that it can't be too late since he has to leave the state the same day, so it has to be genuinely important if he's squeezing me in like this.
I have the suspicion that he plans on doing some kind of intervention, regarding a mutual friend of ours that's really into me. He's in a relationship with said girl's best friend, and they share basically everything, so his GF definitely knows about it. It must be something special, since the last time he was mad at me, he told me so in a minute long voice message, which I resented.
Honestly, I hope it's what I assume it is, I'm bored and the scenario I'm imagining right now sounds exciting.

IF you didn't know, the government thinks that China actually might try to grab Taiwan sometime soon, I don't know soon "soonTM" is but apparently soon enough that they are going after Venezuela and now maybe Iran, China's two biggest oil providers that isn't Russia.
>>
>>25021753
>they are going after Venezuela
China? You aren't being clear. No, China doesn't have to "grab" Taiwan. Yes, Trump rushed a silly kidnapping to try and grab Venezuela. Yes, Netenyahoo would like the US to nuke Tehran

And yes, the US is fomenting discord between Cambodia and Thailand in order to embroil China in the conflict.

It's a little egret in heat in the spring. Woods are terrifying places he can't navigate but he may use the tallest trees at the edge of the woods for nests and lookout points. The fence is perfect since you can see anything climbing it. He is there in the northern wind where nothing grows instead of the plentiful woods to the south where he came from because he hates trees.

They have honesty of conviction. Yes they borrow, but they borrow and exalt, the west is busy with criticism, while japan for having a culture of avoidance tends to not critique, which ends up making artists who promote. Granted the west used to be like that, promotion, but all past art is rather dry, and its impossible for me to reach into the full consciousness of someone who lived in Greece, or Rome, or the 18th or 19th century, and I feel the art (besides music) that has been created then can't be fully exploited anymore, fully felt.

To me, Japan has tended to carry the flame of the west with some great pieces of art in the past 50 years. (not all art, most of it is shit ofc, as it always is)

I don't think it's incidental that all outcasts gravitate towards anime to find better values: Japan is carrying something that the west has lost. It holds on to our core while we're lost, and will give it back as gently as it took care of it, once we're ready.

Do you understand that by ‘generalizations’ I mean the completely unsupported statements you are making about me that have no basis in reality? You claim, for example, that “nobody will ever miss (me),” and that I “have nothing to offer anyone.” You don’t have enough information to support these (untrue, by the way) assertions—you’re clearly lashing out in anger and trying to inflict emotional pain, because you believe that if you hurt my feelings sufficiently, I’ll stop posting. All of this has far more to do with you than it does with me. But by all means, continue, if it makes you feel better. I wish you all the best.

Decartes could not of course foresee that this one-sided effort to ‘conquer nature’ would bring a special danger, the closer it approached realization: that of dispossessing and displacing man himself. We must eventually confront this ultimate threat. And I want to exonerate Descartes and proclaim his relative innocence. Like Galileo he could have had no notion of what would happen when the control of external phenomena and the increase of physical energies available for altering the environment and commanding time and space should take precedence over the effort to humanize man himself, to discipline and direct his own development, and to explore the abounding potentialities of his culture and personality.

I wonder if he was trying to say something about himself with that description of the Egyptian man? Was Burroughs a necrophile or a child prostitution pusher or smth? I wouldn't be surprised. HST was allegedly a photographer for elite sex parties and black masses at which children were raped and killed. I'm increasingly getting the same vibe from Burroughs.

Humor, Definition : devalues the world through absurdity; You may laugh at people, but not of people, through people you laugh at what’s outside of us, maybe chance, maybe the weather, maybe illnesses, maybe our inadequate bodies; if we devalue the world it is to uphold us in face of that world.

Satire, Definition : devalues people through absurdity. To contrast with Humor, which may laughs at people, but not of people, Humor devalues the world, our inevitable conditions, or circumstances under which we may find ourselves; if we devalue others through satire it is to uphold us in face of them.

I honestly prefer Humor. People live dogmatically by the maxim that laughing everyday means you have a happy life, but if their laughter comes solely from satire then it is certain to me that they constantly need to reassure their value through comparison, which is bad!

I had a book change my life for the first time recently. When people used to pose that question I was pretty sure that it was impossible, "books can't change your life", but this book basically came into my life randomly late last year and told me exactly what I needed to hear. And no I'm not going to say what that was.

Nabokov wrote with pencils. Many artists have written with pencils. Aside from nymphets, Nabokov spent time on Kafka--that Jew--that lover boy--that tall, dark, skinny guy, who wrote about Gregor Samsa.

What would Kafka say about Nabokov? Would he equate Nabokov to a vermin, or perhaps Humbert Humbert?

Kafka. Nabokov. Nabokov. Kafka.

today, its all about money. there aren't any friendships anymore. if people don't have any use of you, its as if you don't exist.
i wanted something else, something real.
does it even exist?
everything was so alive, vibrant and new when i was younger. world was full of possibilities. but that's when i was still in school, in the hallway waiting to enter the real world. but when i did, suddenly opportunities started dissapearing. they weren't there for me, not at all. the world started shrinking, revolving around work. i guess i fought against it. but it's no use
i guess it could be worse
it always could

>[Owen] Barfield never made me an Anthroposophist, but his counterattacks destroyed forever two elements in my own thought. In the first place, he made short work of what I have called my ‘chronological snobbery’, the uncritical acceptance of the intellectual climate common to our own age and the assumption that whatever has gone out of date is on that account discredited. You must find out why it went out of date. Was it ever refuted (and if so by whom, where, and how conclusively) or did it merely die away as fashions do? If the latter, this tells us nothing about its truth or falsehood. From seeing this, one passes to the realization that our own age is also ‘a period’, and certainly has, like all periods, its own characteristic illusions. They are likeliest to lurk in those wide spread assumptions which are so ingrained in the age that no one dares to attack or feels it necessary to defend them. In the second place, he convinced me that the positions we had hitherto held left no room for any satisfactory theory of knowledge. We had been, in the technical sense of the term, ‘realists’; that is, we accepted as rock-bottom reality the universe revealed by the senses. But at the same time, we continued to make for certain phenomena of consciousness all the claims that really went with a theistic or idealistic view. We maintained that abstract thought (if obedient to logical rules) gave indisputable truth, that our moral judgment was ‘valid’, and our aesthetic experience not merely pleasing but ‘valuable’. The view was, I think, common at the time; it runs through Bridges “Testament of Beauty”, the work of Gilbert Murray, and Lord Russell’s “Worship of a Free Man”. Barfield convinced me that it was inconsistent. If thought were a purely subjective event, these claims for it would have to be abandoned. If one kept (as rock-bottom reality) the universe of the senses, aided by instruments and coordinated so as to form ‘science’, then one would have to go much further - as many have since gone - and adopt a Behavioristic theory of logic, ethics, and aesthetics. But such a theory was, and is, unbelievable to me. I am using the word ‘unbelievable’, which many use to mean ‘improbable’ or even ‘undesirable’, in a quite literal sense. I mean that the act of believing what the behaviorist believes is one that my mind simply will not perform… It is as final as a physical impossibility. I was therefore compelled to give up realism. I had been trying to defend it ever since I began reading philosophy… Realism satisfied an emotional need. I wanted Nature to be quite independent of our observation; something other, indifferent, self-existing… But now, it seemed to me, I had to give that up. Unless I were to accept an unbelievable alternative, I must admit that mind is no late-come epiphenomenon; that the whole universe was, in the last resort, mental; that our logic was participation in a cosmic Logos.

It's insane how so many people believe most of the world has zero agency or will and only acts when nefarious forces act on them. It reminds me of the way conspiracy theorists see the movements of shadowy cabals of evildoers behind everything, rather than mundane motivations. Is it a source of comfort to imagine that almost all events are carefully planned out by an adult figure somewhere, or is it a form of pseudo-religious secular belief in divine providence?

I've had a similar thought once, I've never really changed, I'm always who I was, I think the same way, react the same way, and with mostly the same intensity to the same things. Finished reading Burke's on the Sublime.

The most dominant emotion within feeling of the Sublime is some sort of fear. It stuns, it takes all attention to itself. Height, width, loudness, dazzling color, darkness(because confusion, or a lack of understanding make things bigger in one's mind), blinding lights(like a sun), all help it arise.

My personal explanation for this effect is the following:
While being confronted to something scary, a threat, a grave danger, you have a rush of adrenaline and it makes you very aware, and for example with a predator in front of you, you'd keep staring at it, stunned, these are the *effects* of fear. The way the Sublime arises is that you suggest the impression of fear through the use of its *consequences*. By creating something so big, that takes up all your vision, or all your mind to process, you imitate the heightened attention towards a singular thing that fear typically creates, because you feel all the consequences of fear, a cousin feeling of it arises, an evokation of fear, the sublime.

Beauty is associated with it because strong harmony and proportions help making a thing singular, into one big unit, and it helps gives a sense of power, disjointed things hold no power, they don't seem to at least.

I think it makes sense this way, I see the same process in art:
although you're not sad, if you hear a music that through its plays with frequencies, imitates a state of sadness, imitates what it feels like internally to be sad, then you'll start being more mellow; you're not sad, but an evokation of how it feels is enough to touch sadness nonetheless.

Tbh it's a term I'm not very used to thinking about, I'm sure I'm missing something in its relation to beauty, meh

Weird how rootless people have become. Both politically and in terms of where they call home. Becoming more rare for people to have a hometown in which their family has lived for more than one generation, or to stay in their hometowns if they have one. Becoming more rare for people to fight changes to their localities rather than just moving away. Californians moving to Idaho, Colorado residents moving to Montana, Americans of one political stripe or another moving abroad. Right wingers talking about leaving for greener pastures after the left wingers, or the immigrants, or the Jews, or what have you ruin everything at home. Left wingers talking about leaving for greener pastures after fascism finally takes over or something. Very rare to see someone with that defiant "fuck you this is my country and I'm fighting for it" attitude, that "my ancestors lived here and I won't be chased out" attitude. Much easier to just let 'em have it and leave for someplace better. And on a personal level I see it too: why stay in your drab old hometown when opportunities are all in the cities, all abroad? when the young people at home are all moving away too? This kind of thing, I believe, is a kind of culture shredder, regardless of who it affects or where it happens. Once a Somali, once a libertarian, once the fifth-generation heir of a patch of farmland, now cut off from the traditions handed down, the very land of one's birth, now just another floating dollar symbol, a "per capita," part of an immigration statistic or a point on a chart of crime rates. Even the strong ethnic groups, the supposedly strong, are shredded; the second, the third generation are unrecognizable to their grandparents, the values sandpapered away, the culture worn off, all replaced by the relentless need to succeed economically no matter the method. A hundred years of this and there will only be one minority left, the elite floating above the masses of vaguely brown, vaguely foreign people infected with a deranged form of the American Dream, a sea of a billion side hustlers with a grindset and an attitude and not a single genuine value besides the value of the dollar.
I hope I'm not coming off as a communist here because I'm definitely not. I don't trust utopian visions regardless of political aisle, whether the universalist fantasy of Marx or the individual pursuit of happiness of modern unbridled capital. I fear the future is that of a whole race without roots, a whole race of atomized little economic units without any kind of culture at all.

I had a dream I went to a restaurant, the kind they put on the upper floors (but not the top) of high buildings, that are basically glorified cafeterias, wooden chairs with a European weight limit included around tables too clustered for service, but floor to ceiling windows, with a view of fog or smog or something gray and the sense there's a view ten days a year that probably isn't all that impressive. It was nearly empty, and I think I'd gone with my sister and her two kids to get a treat, but they were gone, the detritus of small children scattered around our table, the only occupied one. The staff and maybe one potential customer loitered around the glass fronted display cases while I nursed a coffee at a table of ghosts and empty cups. At some point, I realised my sister, if it was her, would not be back until closing, and having time to kill, i went to look at the cakes. Most of the display cases were empty or blinded already, and it was clear the staff wanted me to clear the place, but there was one case with ice-cream in it and what looked like sculptures made from ice-cream wafers filled with ice cream of various mixes. I think they were for valentines day or some other holiday, which had just passed, because it looked like it was their last day. I asked the lady behind the counter:
>What are those?
>>They really aren't very good.
>Oh
She didn't want to tell me the kinds of ice-cream in the sculptural ice-cream sandwiches, or sell me them, I surmised from the interaction. I think i was about to get another coffee but I woke up

Bro, WW1 is so cool.
>The merry, fresh war which we were all looking forward to for years has turned out to be quite different from what we thought! It is murder of troops by machines, and the horse has become almost superfluous… The cavalry can do nothing… we are deployed only as riflemen in the trenches… Artillery fire is inflicting enormous losses on our troops, and our best men have been laid to rest… the few remaining officers on the front are nervous wrecks… All the theories of decades have proved to be worthless, and now everything has to be done differently. We are all sick of the war; how long is it going to last?
>My blood froze in my veins. Crawling along the cratered battlefield were two mysterious monsters. The monsters approached slowly –– limping, staggering, swaying –– but no obstacle could stop them. They moved ever forward with a supernatural force. Our machine-gun fire and hand grenades simply bounced off them.
>The crushing impact of mortars, cannon, and howitzers, the detonation of grenades, the rattle of machine guns, and the crack of snipers’ rifles forced soldiers to endure a troglodyte existence beneath the shattered landscape from whose surface all living humanity has been expelled… when they raise themselves above the parapets, to brave the full destructive force of modern firepower, perhaps the most palpable sensation was nakedness… the First World War was something new…it’s impact seems so total as to rupture all lines of continuity with what came before.

I feel like most people, if you press them and talk to them, have had supernatural experiences, or strange things in their lives they can't explain without recourse to the spiritiual and the Divine. They just try to shove them out of sight and out of mind, because it would violate the current accepted paradigm for understanding the world, and they don't want to be thought of as weird.

You'd need to actually do a survey. Without any rigour though, it is evident that 'supernatural' things tend to happen to people pre-disposed to them, and rarely to skeptics.
Anecdotally, I myself haven't actually had any supernatural experiences, neither has my father. On the other hand, my mother and my maternal grandfather have scores of them. My Mother and Grandfather have always been inclined towards the supernatural, while my father and I are Atheists.
I should also mention that the average person is inclined to believe in the super-natural, always has been, always will. It's an innate thing, imo. And the current paradigm isn't nearly as hostile to that kind of thing as you say it is.

It must be hell to live in a country with niggers and other ethnicities. I'm sorry for you.

In many ways, being active in politics is a form of prostitution. Unrelated to this, I think self-identifying as a member of the poñlitical opposition in certain countries should be considered a mental illness.

None of these countries are the U.S, by the way. Argentina, Mexico, and Venezuela are the ones I'm thinking about.

I'm starting to feel like my standard at-home sandwich needs another ingredient. I do turkey, mayo, lettuce, swiss, and tomato. I used to love it a lot but lately I feel like it's missing something. Any suggestions? Definitely not raw onions or pickles. Bacon is very meh. I do like dijon mustard but there's gotta be another idea.

Switch up the the cold meat. Pork ham can't be that hard to come by, right?

Good thinking. I did buy some roast beef for my mother the other day I could use. I just like turkey a lot but that might be the ticket.

Well my burnout has evolved into something different.
I've been working this week after a three weeks long vacation, where I slept a lot, and was mostly at home reading and being comfy. At the end of the vacation I felt great, and my usual anxiety was gone.
So I have decided that my health comes first. Now I'm no longer burnout or stressed but I feel genuinely unable to care about my job anymore and I'm slacking off a lot.
Today I woke up at 8:00, turned the computer on, set my mouse jiggler and went back to bed. When I woke up I had breakfast and I've spent all morning doing jack shit. I even worked out on company time. I know this is not right, and it will be detrimental for me in the long run but I simply don't care.

I still feel the same.

Wish me luck boys.
