How do i make reading at night more comfortable?
The bright screen hurts my eyes so bad.
At least on my phone i can read fine on dark mode.
>>
turn on dark mode and turn down the brightness.
>>
>>25024181
My kindle is the 10th generation, it doesnt have dark mode :^(
I switched to Caecilia font and increased the font size to 3, while also decreasing brightness to 5.
Its okay now but i still wish it had dark mode. Will try to sell this one and buy a newer one.
>>
turn off the backlight and use a lamp
>>
>>25024179
Buy an actual tablet that isn't Amaslop.
>>
you know the brightness is adjustable right?
>>
>>25024212
If you can't or won't just keep the light on while you read, and you don't have dark mode, then just increase warmth. The reason your phone is easier on your eyes has completely to do with warmth. The slider should be right under brightness

Well, there is none under it
I guess ill buy a lamp as someone above mentioned. I cant stand reading with lights on, reminds me of classes.

>>25024276
Too much brightness = eyes hurt
Low brightness = low readability
>>
>>25024400
I have an eleventh gen Paperwhite and it has dark mode and heat adjustment. You might be able to update your kindle though, have you installed an update lately?
>>
I have Kobo Clara BW and when you go to settings then right under the brightness slider there is another menu you can open and at the very bottom it says that op is a fucking incompetent faggot
>>
>>25024432
If your Clara doesn't suck you off, it's because it's an older model or you are gay
>>
Ok this seems like the thread to ask
where the fuck do I get books. annas archive is down, libgen is down
>>

>>

>>25024179
buy an actual book and read it under warm light. are you seriously surprised your eyes are hurting from trying to read from a screen?
>>
>>25024212
Yes it does, you just need to hack it and install koreader so you can read in dark mode. Older kindles don't have dark mode as a feature not because of any kind of limitations but simply because Jeff Goyzos decided to paywall it behind the OS versions of newer models.

E-ink monitor at lowest warm light setting plus dimmable lamp. /lit/ looks like a newspaper rn
>>
I read in the dark with my phone flashlight. We are not the same.
>>
>>25024637
What are some good e-ink tablets that work more as tablets than strictly ereaders? Like what are you posting on?
>>
>>25024665
I use an old dasung paperlike hd-ft 13 inch attached to my wall in vertical mode with tape hangers. Couldn't work as a tablet. Since it's from 2020 I'd have to recommend one of their newer models as the ghosting is supposedly less of an issue, I don't mind the ghosting in this 2020 model as there's not much of it in "text" mode on which I usually keep it. If you do buy an actual tablet make sure it has google play store. E-ink monitors and tablets (not e-readers) are usually Chinese which means older models had no play store.
>>
>>25024665
Also if you get a monitor (not a tablet), before you buy it research if you can apply at keyboard hotkey to clear ghosting.
>>
>>25024212
I have a 6th generation one and putting the brightness at 7 is usually comfortable enough for night reading.
