Where should I begin with Fernando Pessoa?

Book of Disquiet. New Directions has the best Pessoa translations. After that, probably the work he wrote under the de Campos heteronym.

Read the poem "Tabacaria"

I'm curious about Álvaro de Campos. I think I'll go deep into his poetry.

You need to start smoking before you can read him. At least 1 cigarette every 45 minutes.

idk why everyone starts here. it seems like the endpoint to me
i would start with a general collection of caeiro, reis and de campos and then get to know which or all of them you like best. and then go to book of disquiet once you're done or explore the ouvre of one of the other guys if it grabs you
i fucking hate /lit/pseuds who think that soares = pessoa because he's me irl and that's who pessoa is and all they know of him
