French translations of books/stories you know
>>
My first two books in French were Le Petit Prince and L'étranger. Next up is La Planète des singes by Pierre Boulles. If you are beginning to read in French I recommend starting with children's picture books before reading any of these, the pictures and repetition of vocabulary make them much easier to grasp. Think of the Little Golden Books in English. I read a dozen of those and by the last one I could read the whole book without looking up anything. If there are too many words you don't understand in those, go back to basic grammar and vocabulary before picking up a book again.

That war was considered lost (to "us" since I'm bongistani for that matter) by American generals long after the first French expeditionary forces landed and reversed quite after thanks to the subsequent French expeditions. In any case it still wouldn't explain your previous statement, quite is completely delusional history wise.

le manifeste du parti communiste

looking forward to « le capital » which is apparently slightly different in content from the german version

Probably some simple picture book from government mandates to learn the other national language. I don't know much French regretfully, but I would much rather learn it than the disgusting Chink language which infests my homeland.

Chinese and French are similar phonetically in many ways. Both have boiled down stress and syllable to their barest.
