I'm looking for a good book to help a friend of mine learn english. We live on other sides of the planet so I thought a good way to keep in touch would be to read a book together and do a sort of long distance book club. Their english is alright, but they still struggle to read at too high of a level, what's some good simply written books to read together?
Just read something that interests you or is important to you, friendship will do more for understanding than random book suggested by random person.
A really good choice if you are looking for a novel might be Finnegan's Wake by James Joyce. I am dyslexic, and I really struggled with reading in elementary school. Eventually one of my tutors started me on Finnegan's Wake, and it just made sense. It really helped me to catch up to reading level, and I still have fond memories of this book. Give it a shot.
>>25090926already did that with a book i'm a fan of, but it's proving difficult for them to read. I know it'll get easier over time, but I think I need something easier to get them into reading more.
