What the FUCK was his problem? Also, how do you go from the highs of Hyperion and Fall of Hyperion to whatever the fuck Endymion and Rise of Endymion were?
>>25091558>Endymion and Rise of EndymionI stopped after the Hyperions because no explanation for the Shrike was given except >muh time travel >trust me.Is it worth picking up or does it take a dive?
>>25092077The second Hyperion explains things more, I enjoyed the pair as a complete story (first is better written though).
>>25092077Endymion was ok.You're seeing the world in the aftermath of Fall of Hyperion, and it takes a tour of the various worlds which is somewhat interesting, but it leaves you with more questions than answers. Then Rise of Endymion comes along and it's hundreds of pages of exposition dumps and when it is trying to tell a story, it kind of lumbers along, with barely any payoff, and I just felt kind of lame after reading it.Reading these all back to back recently, I was coming from Fall expecting answers to some of the leftover plot threads and the whys and what happened and got none of it really.I don't think you're missing out stopping after the second book, and if I read these again that's where I'd stop. The Shrike is better of how it's presented in the first two, and is only used as a cheap asspull plot device in the third and fourth
