is this out of date?
>>
also where can I get behead all satans in print?
>>
It's a marketing image. The Legacy of Totalitarianism in a Tundra and its sequel would be there otherwise. So would Stirner
>>
>>25093512
>The Legacy of Totalitarianism in a Tundra
literally to the left of the sign
>>
>>25093505
no conrdog zen?
>>
>>25093505
I don't think they've sold a copy of Gravity's Rainbow with that cover design in years
>>
>>25093505
Yeah, by like five years. Eggplant and Call of the Crocodile, maybe also Behead All Satans, have lost their meme status. Tundra remains a classic.

For the updated version we've got a vote for Corndog Zen >>25093531. What else?
>>
>>25093505
Not really, this board never actually progressed beyond the shambolic state this meme is referencing, it's actually gotten worse.
>>
>>25093545
Putting every book anyone has ever shilled here doesn't make much sense on what should be a table of titles that became memes here, not the Unreal Discord table with shit like Gardner or whatever. The only author who managed to shill himself into a meme here was Tao Linn.
>>
>>25093505
Why the fuck is jordan peterson's shitty book there
>>
>>25093545
Dance of the Lizard's Tale, The Book of Marlon, Sinner's Descent and Hexxenjaeger
>>
>>25093587
>why is Jordan Peterson's shitty bullshit on this shitty board
>>
>>25093545
Well, My First Book (but only because someone has been spamming levy threads for almost two years). Maybe Femoid, and &amp Best-of.
>>
>>25093505
partially. no one reads McKenna anymore.
>>
>>25093509
You don't want it, it sucks. Compelling enough at the beginning and end, but the middle is entirely journal entries about growing cannabis.
>>
>>25093505
>Fanged
Actual nonsense
>Decline of the west
I wasted 4 months of my life on a book that went nowhere and spengler is a moron
>Industrial society and it's future
Literal meme
Hopefully yes the board moved on.

>Eggplant
Why do people glaze this book so much? There was genuinely nothing special about it. Neither its themes, nor plot, nor prose were anything beyond mediocre at best

I'd guess there were a lot of new users from COVID (traffic was at least way up), and Ogden did a decent job shilling it. Memorable for having a good cover when most other no-name Amazon KDP books looked very trashy. The only book I've seen get a similar amount of interest since was Corndog Zen and for the same reasons: okay/interesting book from a beginner, amiable shilling, gave it away for free.

>>25093568
I sort of agree, but let's not pretend Tao Lin is still a meme here. All this stuff comes and goes. Three shill books in the original makes sense, and the criteria is more or less whether anons would recognise the cover/book from the catalogue.

>>25093594
>Dance of the Lizard's Tale
Only one among those I think would be relevant. Replaces CotC.

>>25093625
I'd say yes to My First Book, no to Femoid, maybe to the best-of. Could put the best-of on the magazine rack in the back.
>>
>>25094556
He's a meme with oldfags, whereas all the Unreal Discord and Gardner crap was never a meme with anyone.

I remember it being about a secret island where rich artists are conducting human sacrifices, considering the news lately I don’t see how that’s not interesting and relevant. Also the first chapter with the guy shooting up melted gold was kino.

Went hunting for the title of the book with the anime/manga/weeb cover. Toradora.

>>25094569
meme != good

Gardner did have meme status for a while where anons would rec him as a joke after he shilled himself nonstop. Even just as a cover that'd be recognised, CotC was cemented as a meme. It's tired now and the joke is dead, and Gardner was never worth reading, but it was a thing regardless.

Ogden started out giving away Eggplant by email (same as Wallace Mack did later with Corndog Zen). Eggplant had no (overt) association with Unreal as far as I can tell, and had some chapters appear in &amp before it released. I don't think any book to later come out of the Unreal or &amp millieu was as recognisable as Eggplant, with Corndog having nothing to do with either and being the only comparable example to Eggplant I can think of (in terms of having a mostly positive reception and amiable shilling techniques).

Found something for you.

>Gardner did have meme status for a while where anons would rec him as a joke

This never happened

Ogden is an associate of the private discord server . Anything that comes out of that server is known to everyone on it
>>
>>25093587
This board was filled with Peterson spam 5 or 6 years ago. I think they were paid shills.
>>
>>25094960
Gardner was never even a joke on this board because he tried to commodify himself too much. He had a quick, simple idea for a cash grab: rape /lit/ with his books until they caught on and people paid him. Because he saw quantity of books an easier way of making money than quality, he shat out as many books with zero quality as he could. No, he wasn't a bad writer oblivious to how dogshit he was, trying to make it big, that might have been memeable; he was a cynical marketer who tried to cash in and commodify that very idea as an angle because he figured it was the easiest way possible in reality as we know to shit out and sell books. He was such a profoundly greedy piece of shit that he never wrote anything, not even a short story, for free. He demanded money to contribute to anything because he didn't care about writing or want to be a writer, he didn't care about reading or books, he just cared about getting people to buy shit that was as bad or worse than what AI would shit out. Still he and the Unreal Discord would continue to shill him because even though he refused to contribute to their publications since they couldn't pay for his feces, he is still a part of their discord.

The URL is out of date if nothing else.

If you don't own The Legacy of Totalitarianism in a Tundra in print you're not a real /lit/izen.
>>
>>25093531
I agree. Solid /lit/ book. Not perfect, but he posted free copies all the time and was receptive to feedback

>Gardner was never even a joke on this board
Everything else you said can be true with the occasional anon ironically recommending CotC (which is mixed in with him pretending to be anons recommending it ironically, and so on). I agree with the take that he's cynical and not just an oblivious retard, but it's very clearly a mix of both, which is still something to make a joke out of for the passing anon. Pic related.

Does reading a cropped version of the PDF on a Kobo count for anything?
>>
>>25095034
As soon as he was thoroughly banned, the posts promoting him vanished
>>
>>25095042
one of the few actually willing to buy ads and they banned him
>>
>>25095047
They banned him because he refused to be satisfied with buying ads. Even after they banned him though he continued to buy ads because this board was never anything to him but suckers he could get money out of and the only reason he posted here was to promote his shit. He even tried to become /lit/'s YouTuber to promote himself, always trying to cash in on whatever was a hot topic on 4chan. Presumably return on his investment continued to decline until it was no longer lucrative
>>
>>25095042
Unpopular opinion but I think there was some merit to Gardner books. If he’s self aware of what he’s doing I’d say it’s actually kind of impressive. I read call of the Kabbalah and it was genuinely hilarious.

If you thought Gardner was funny but the schtick got old you should read “The Raft” by Phil Rot. Funniest and strangest book I’ve read in years.
>>
>>25095080
There was not a single funny sentence Gardner wrote. He pumped out low-grade dogshit and counted on people finding it funny because it is low-grade dogshit. This is only funny when it is unintentional, it is not impressive when intentional
