Is 4chan's anonymity a true Dionysian dissolution of the self into the 'Primordial Unity', or is it just the ultimate refuge for those who lack the Will to Power to be actual individuals in the real world?
It's a reaction against the "look-at-me" narcissism that pervades the online world.
Anonymity is nice because every post stands only on itself.

>>25107268Shut up nigger the Internet existed before Myspace
>>25107254The second one.
>>25107254>Is 4chan's anonymity a true Dionysian dissolution of the self into the 'Primordial Unity',I just want to feel your cock cum when I fuck your arsehole mate. No need to get Greek.
the latterposting with anonymity—as opposed to persistent identity—is a means to dodge internal consistency in your beliefs, statements and the responsibilities and challenges being consistent entails.
>>25107397>Identity is persistentOnly in the manner that syphilis is persistent.
>>25107402that really not a very informative retort.did you recycle it from a movie or something?
>>25107415Your prior argument imported persistence of Identity as a good, without having argued for it.Calling identity a sexually transmitted disease leading to madness and death challenges your importation of undemonstrated "Good."Secondly, like syphilis, identity is sexually transmitted in that the creation of humans normally involves sex or libidinal desire, and that the creation of the human itself involves libidinal trauma (cf: Lacan, Kristeva). This makes it an "apt metaphor" so more than merely a retort pointing out your flaws, I challenge the centrality of your category to being.Thirdly, attempting to maintain an identity against The Real's continuous unsymbolisable penetration of you is a fools errand: your claim of the ideal is an impossible task, and one of no value.Fourthly, like syphilis, identity can be cured with modern chemical treatment.
>>25107254I like this bit of text here >>25107274but, I don't think anonymity is what makes site into a place I like, it's much more important to have no like button and no sorting threads by likes nor comments by likes either. You find threads by 'activity' or just going through date sorting, and you read comments in the order they were posted, this is good because it prevents people from farming points for posting terribly conventional stuff. It's not perfect, you can still find people that seek thread 'activity' and (you)s by trolling and posting bait. And of course, the very lax moderation on what words you can type is another great rule. Normies say 4chan is toxic, but it is a website where by design you literally cannot be harassed, because you have no account and no identity, and again, with no likes, conversation are 1 on 1 always, they can hardly turn into ratio-battle where you're trying to 'own' your opponent and feel good about it because you get supported by a mob of likes and drones agreeing with you. Every other site appeals to the power hungry with self-esteem issues, on 4chan, you can only live in a conversation if you possess a minimum of self-worth and psychological insensibility to slurs.>is it just the ultimate refuge for those who lack the Will to Power to be actual individuals in the real world? To answer this, then as I said, the lack of likes I think selects for stronger, and more individualist people (in the sense that they can stand on their own)
