>>25122257Do you own that desk reference, and do you like the maps in it?
>>25122284No, but it looks cool doesn't it?
The List of Books: A Recommended Library of Over 3000 Works - Frederic Raphael and Kenneth McLeishhttps://archive.org/details/listofbooks00raph
>>25122295It does look cool. I wanted to warn you its not a reference atlas but an intro geography textbook. There are like five maps in the back of the book and all the other maps it says it has are like pic rel. The D-K atlases are pretty good if you want country level maps.
>>25123098Pic rel seems OK. I've never owned one, but I saw the cover of one in-person one time. Their fold out maps are nice, and it looks like they use the same images in there.
>>25122257>Timetables of HistoryActually useful reference for writing anything that takes place in the past
What's the most comprehensive single volume oxford dictionary I can have on my desk?
>>25123324Single volume? It's just the OED. Not the concise version. The next step up would be the two-volume "Shorter OED"
>>25123345>Shorter Oxford English Dictionary >it's longer than the Oxford English Dictionary
>>25123345Which is the one that comes with a magnifying glass cause the print is so small
>>25123516the compact edition, which is more comprehensive than the oed or the shorter oed
Just grab OED's desktop software. It's around somewhere

>>25125142>Just keep a physical copy of the 20 volumes on your desk bro
>>25123224 I'm looking for this thing. Thanks.
