>>25124239It's short. It's a story. Ergo you fatso, it's a short story.
>>25124547Short is relative. Meanwhile the average novella is 90-120 pages long. I Am Legend is about 90 pages so it's a novella in my book. A novelette would be about 30-80 pages, just for reference.
The Yellow Wallpaper
>>25123995Sredni Vashtar
baby for sale never worn
I recently read The Cask of Amontillado or whatever it's called by Poe. It was the first story of his I read that was remotely scary/ disturbing. He is a really skilled writer but his stories are either super tame, or he ends up just randomly babbling endlessly. This story however was completely to the point, no extra words, exactly as much as it should have been. A nearly perfectly executed short story.

>>25126117Few years ago OP bought a book bound in elephant hide, OP did not know elephant hide is a type of paper and he thought he had bought some rare and expensive edition, memes ensued. OP then proceeded to manipulate his mom into funding his Dunsany collection and each time he got a new book, he made a thinly veiled thread on book collecting that was really about him and he would post a great number of photos of the book his mom bought him. His last threads did not go over so well and he is now trying to be more creative about it but the point of the thread is really that he wants anons to ask about his bookshelf that he made sure to keep visible in the photo. For what ever reason, OP just can't seem to understand that making it about himself is what causes the pushback, had he showed a genuine interest in the books posted by other anons in his collecting threads, some of them would have responded in kind. But he just spammed his own threads until he triggered the autists.
>>25125152For me it's The Outsider. Absolutely LOVE the skeleton danse at the end of that one. Tight little story that manages to pack in a lot of dread, too.

>>25126163You sound new to 4chan. A common misconception of newfags is that OP has to interact with the people in his thread. Less than 1% of users of 4chan make threads. Threads are merely a portal for users to interact with each other.
