I'm a sick man just getting to the novels I always wanted to read. Curious which Pynchon novel I should go with. I heard Pynchon writes about fury over lost love. That interests me. Which does it better? ATD appeals more to me but GR sounds more furious, I'm interested in its moments of detonation.

Yeah read GR first, but start with Lot 49 before that

Gravity’s rainbow. After after 2-3 chapters, read the Reddit read along that summarizes everything and read some of the opinions.

Against the Day if you want something more lighthearted you don’t need to critically read and re-read to understand.

Underworld by Don Delillo is somewhere in the middle.

The Watchmen is a quicker Against the Day but also good.

Are the precise moments of detonation in GR really devastating or is it more mood focused?
