Apparently he doesn't even kill the guy in the end
Can't imagine a worse let down
2002 movie is better
(Haven't read it.)

The prison section was kino. The endless yearly income comparisons that came after it were not.
Also Dantes should have been humbled a bit more in the end in my opinion.

how would that be providence then?

Is 3 musketeers as good?

Yes. Get the sequels too. It's one of the most entertaining stories to get lost in for a couple of months. I believe Oxford is the only publisher that's published the entirety of the d'Artagan Romances. They're the ones I have anyway

No, no it doesn't. It's one of the most tiring, self-righteous, worthless things I've devoted time to. It makes sense that a white man carved the core story, then the nigger that the French love so much came in, bloated it beyond belief, and turned it into a mess. This, and adventure novels of their time, are pulpschlock of their time. Today's average capeschlock beats it for time well spent. God, I hate this book. The movie is cool though.

The anime is unironically better.

The Stars Tennis Balls by Stephen Fry (yes the actor) is a nice compressed modern retelling of this. His enemies actually die in that one.

This is what I remember about it. It read like a teenage fanfiction.

Genre fiction of its era.

This too.

No movie ofbthis is ever good because they all make him get back with skank Mercedes instead of Haydee.

I liked the sci fi version by Alfred bester. The intro is hype as hell. Teleportation is cool fantasy to indulge in. The movie with caveziel is absolute kino and inspires me on occasion.
