I knew nothing about this book going in other than it was a medieval horror steeped in Catholicism. Having finished it it has now become one of my favorite books, with an absolutely beautiful ending and the most haunting depiction of hell I believe I've ever come across to which, I must admit has shaken me to deepen my faith and to shrug off vices in pursuit of this. If anyone has any similar suggestions I would welcome them greatly.

>>25159891I agree! I'm glad someone else on this godforsaken site has some taste. I don't know any other books that are very much like it, but I also really liked City of Thieves by David Benioff. I think it has the same kind of feeling, and a group of characters traveling through a dark, melancholy world.
>>25159908The next one I started is His Black Tongue, similar to BTF its also set in 1349 during the plague and follows a friar and his ward attempting to save a small village from a priest that I believe is being puppeteered by the devil. I didn't know that it was similar when I pick them up but it's a happy coincidence
>>25159916That's on my to-read list, near the top. It looks interesting.
>>25159970And I similarly will place City of Thieves on mine
>>25159908>>25160031Fucking loved City of Thieves
Dear anon,This thread is a bunch of (you)s. Between Two Fires is anime that got popular due to Lockdowns + Dark Souls. No one with taste likes this shit.
