The question is, of this list, who’s the biggest schizo? I’m gonna go with Proclus.
>>
>>25160344
Mainlander.
>>
>>25160344
depends on whether you mean the eccentricity of their beliefs or how actually mentally ill they were as individuals
>>
>>25160372

eccentricity of beliefs is no big deal
i'd definitely love to see someone with serious mental illness make it past >the wall
anyone come to mind?

The first one that comes to mind is Hölderlin, since he lived a long life despite his issues. Most of the "schizo" philosophers weren't really all that poorly adjusted.
>>
>>25160721

Pretty sure schizos were just a normal part of life up until the early 1900s. Not common, but unless they were really going at it, I doubt it was a big deal.
Plus they didn't have meth everywhere so they were probably a much more human breed than we are used to these days

>Stirner was totally clear-headed
Totally clear-headed and not worth reading, except perhaps for a precocious adolescent.
>>
>>25163981
A lot of the things, almost all of them, that Stirner says should be obvious and unnecessary to say, but in the modern Western world ideas like his are fairly controversial. A lot of people come to Stirner's ideas without ever reading his book. However, a lot of people either don't come to his believes by himself, can't fully articulate what they believe or would feel validated and legitimized by reading this thoughts from someone else's pen. All of these people benefit from reading Stirner at least once. That's why I will always recommend Stirner. It's the gateway to honest thought.
