Me too. There's just something much comfier with a paperback. Especially if they're already dog-eared.

My paperbacks from 15 years ago are all ratty and the pages are yellowing. But I have 100 year old hardcovers still in great condition

Same, hardcovers are pretentious.

Shut the fuck up, faggot.

I have pretty bad carpal tunnel as a result of tics from Tourette's and as a result hardcover books can be really painful and uncomfortable for me to read. As a result I've always favoured trade paperbacks between 200-300 pages. Shit just feels good in the hand too. Meanwhile hardcovers are big, heavy, unwieldy, and require two hands to read in bed (not preferable when I need a free hand to vape). Fuck huge paperbacks too, for the same reasons.

>require two hands to read in bed
Skill issue. I'm reading a hardcover of 2666 right now and can comfortably hold it in one hand

>ignoring that all modern hardcovers are literally just the paperback edition but with glued on hardcovers.
I mean literally.
On some if you peel off the hardcover you'll find the cover of the paperback.
On most others it still just glue.

I have small Trump hands :(

Never seen a hardcover that wasn't clothbound. The newest hardcover I own is Shadow Ticket and it has a normal cloth binding. Any evidence for this claim?

This. A nice, read-through paperback is pure sovl

Some answers here seem to be made by a bot lol

When are you going to stop fucking dogs?

Yeah same. Paperbacks are generally lighter so easier to read holding up. Also, easier to read in bed- hardbacks dig into my stomach if I read them lying down. Finally, paperbacks are less expensive.
