It’s beautiful. So many great moments thus far and I’m only up to chapter 6. Can’t believe that Jackson cut out the sentient fox and the beautiful first encounter the hobbits have with the elves and Gildor. STUPID /LIT/ NAH NAH NAH NAH NAH

I like the meeting with Gildor. IMO, FotR is the best part of LotR, though I've grown to appreciate the others, after learning more of the lore of Middle Earth in Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales.
Personally, I think where Tolkien shines is in the description of something epic in a very small number of pages - the parts with Helm Hammerhand and The Orc-Dwarf wars in the Appendices were kino.
