Why isn’t this a thing
Think before you speak.
>>25165772>"Timothy, do you know why our land is so rare and valuable?">"No brother, why is this the case?">"It is because our trees are niggers Timothy."
Putting white ink on black paper is very expensive and doesn't stick (to achieve blackness requires more density of matter).Alternatively you'd put black ink everywhere except the text, also very expensive.
>>25165776Paper is white because it's bleached not because trees are white.
>>25165780>we wuz treez
>>25165778>blacks are denser than whitesIs this why they can't swim?
>>25165780>responds to a nigger greentext with a fact matter of fact
>>25165772>nigger handlike clockwork
>>25165772It looks expensive to produce. All that ink wasted?
>>25165772It's real>monochrome bible>The KJV New Testament Bible printed with white ink on the finest Italian black paperOnly the new testament>The thin special paper on which the Bible is normally printed does not exist in black paper>if we tried to print the entire Bible in a single volume on this black paper, it will weigh around 8 poundsAmazing
when i'm writing on my computer i have the page black and the text a dark grey. it's the easiest on my eyes.
Same reason writing with white pens on black paper isn't.
>>25165772>production is vastly more expensive>you still need an external light source, rendering the point of "dark mode" moot
>>25165772Because people don't want to sell a kidney to be able to afford a novella.
Because it'd screw over anyone with astigmatism
>>25165885You can buy many massive, hardcover, glossy art books for like $40
Looks kino but I can't imagine wanting to read like this for the rest of my life
>>25165772Fingers turn black enough after holding a normal book like that for too long, I can't imagine how it would be in the case of that thing.
Dark mode exists because of how screens work. It's completely pointless in physical print, and if you care THAT much, just buy a Kobo
>>25165772It takes two to three times as much ink to get a good white on black paper compared to black on white paper. More ink means it takes longer to dry which means you have to run the presses slower so they don't imprint on each other in the outfeed. Black paper has to be dyed. White ink is more expensive than black. The costs add up. It is also a major turn off for anyone who likes to annotate their books.
>>25165790It's also why they get poor SAT scores.
>>25166085>It is also a major turn off for anyone who likes to annotate their books. This seems like the only positive. Margin scribblers must die.
>>25166082>It's completely pointless in physical printsome people find a blank page in full sunlight to be too glaring. probably mostly an issue for those with light colored eyes. your point about the e-reader is a good one.
>>25165895Wait, dark mode is bad for astigmatic people?
>>25165772triggers my astigmatism
>>25165772Triggers my racism.
>>25165895Good. My sister doesn't need to read despite being a librarian
>>25165895Yeah but nobody cares about that
>>25166331it's not, trust me
>>25166614you trigger my gonads>>25166616>not niggers your racismCringe frfr bruh
>>25166326>full sunlightI hope you're reading in solitude. Otherwise, you're a performative jackass
>>25165772tk;dr fucking expensive and pointless except to appease people like the guy in this exchange who can't stand colours with a Value > 128.
test
>>25168134You get a D. See me after class.
>>25165772humans read better on light backgrounds.Dark mode fucks up your eyes.
>>25167762i'm going to continue to read whereever i damn well please. you can cry about it, if you like.
wasnt there a startup publishing house that ripped off retarded idiots with this idea? Amaranthia Books or something, it was like hundreds of dollars for a classic.
>>25165772>Acts>page 157What sort of trash version of the bible is that?
>>25165772because of the jews
>>25165772Imagine the smell
Dark mode for electronic screens only makes sense because the screen is also the light source, so with dark mode you can read in an otherwise dark room. Here you would still need an external light, completely defeating the purpose, and it would be more tiring on the eyes to go over such contrast in a lit room or sunlight. Plus it would be five times more expensive.
>>25165780Is the color of tree bark closer to white or black, what do you think?
>>25165772I assume dark mode, which is good on screens that emit light, doesn't work as well on books that don't emit light.Having said that, the book here does rather readable.
Dark mode reading has existed for some time
>>25166085>It is also a major turn off for anyone who likes to annotate their booksSo is death. Which they deserve.
