Ok i enjoyed part 1 but im so close to dropping it now starting part 2
Is it worth finishing?

I'm sick of reading the same scenario playout again and again

I'm serious man this book is killing my motivation to read I'm sure it gets better just tell me it does and I'll go on with it

I hate dropping books unless it's the first 50 pages

Part 2 is better than Part 1. Feels more thought out, more tragic in tone compared to part 1's comedy, more pearls of wisdom. The 2nd Don Quixote also adds a proto-postmodern dimension to it.
Though desu I found the book overrated. Not even close to the GOATs like Moby-Dick and Ulysses.

I just started reading it myself and finished the chapter where everyone starts throwing away his books to burn, and the entire thing is just jokes about all these stories no one's heard in 100+ years.

I'm reminded of how a lot of hit songs from the past live on in the collective consciousness exclusively as Weird Al parodies

The movie scene with don quixote singing the impossible dream got me inspired to fo forth and finish more classics.

Man of La Mancha had such a huge impact on me when I was a kid. My grandma took me to see the play when I was 8 or 9 and the message always stuck with me that all you should do in life is what you know in your heart to be good and right, no matter what the external world tells you. It's such a beautiful take on the character.

It's not about the plot. Almost every part is either a formal innovation, a meta joke, or some transgression against the literary conventions of its time. It's always good to abandon it and return to it a few years later.
