What are some books that have "transformed" you?

Do you believe in the concept of transformative literature? Or do you think there are a lot of malleable brained lemmings who believe what they're told to believe?

These are genuine questions.

>books that have transformed you
all of them equally

>do you believe in transformative literature
no, the more it tries to transform you, the more a person's innate defense mechanisms kick in and push them away from the material which is naturally uncharismatic

>do you think .. lemmings .. believe
i mean of course. but there are also people who are convinced they are not lemming at all, and define their own destiny or something else cringe like that, and they are generally the ones who are the most.. say.. affected by things

Unironically the meme trilogy, but mainly Ulysses and GR, kind of rewired my brain and changed the way I look at literature and what I value in it
Aside for that I guess at most I have internalised some of the moral lessons in the screwtape letters, but undoubtedly only because they already aligned with my moral compass and what have you
I otherwise remained impervious to any ideological or philosophical work I have read
Dunno what transformative literature is supposed to be. If you mean stuff like self help books I don't read those

Hmm.... Maniac MaGee got me to eat butterscotch krimpets back in the day so there was def some transformation that occurred there

But I would not recommend eating then today, I tried within the last hear and omg it was so bad. They RUINED the formula or something, it was an oily mess and no longer had the super sweet taste I once enjoyed

Doctor Faustus made me interested in classical music.
