why can't they into literature? Even the Dutch have better books. There are like 3 authors, no Kierkegaard does not count, that are worthwhile.
>>
Hamsun
Ibsen
Astrid Lindgren
That Swedish Nun
>>
the dutch don't have any good literature lol unless you're counting that 12 year old girl's (((diary)))

Ibsen and Strindberg are both good playwrights. I'm not sure what the point of this thread is.

Not enough challenge. You can't suffer in Norway
>>
Strindberg is Nietzsche if he had literary talent and wasn't contrarian to himself.

>shakespeare is not literature
You don't actually believe that

Jacobsen, Vesaas, Dagerman, Bjørneboe

After the 1950s we started exclusively writing crime slop
You're welcome for saturating the market

Hans Christian Anderson, Snorri Sturluson

Also, Kierkegaard and Sweden bought, but not literature

It blew its load prematurely in the middle ages, notably in Iceland but some decent related stuff from the continent.
However it's indeed been a seemingly permanent refractory period since then unless you are a fan of airport crime novels which are produced in industrial quantities in Scandinavia. My mother can't get enough of them for some reason but ladies too old for netflix binges are the obvious target audience.
Andersen and Strindberg are good, Ibsen isn't.

Old Icelandic literature is the one I care about the most
I've heard good things about Knut Hamsun and Halldór Laxness too
I enjoy Ibsen
>>
B-But what about all those Nobel Prizes? Par Lagerkvist and Hamsun!
>>
Have you never heard of the Sagas?
>>
Sigrid Undset is great.
>>
>Sweden
Söderberg, Strindberg, Lagerqvist, Lagerlöf
>Norway
Hamsun, Ibsen, Knausgard
>Faroes
Heinesen, Jacobsen
>Denmark
Andersen

Icelandic sagas are not worth your time.

Let the right one in by John advide lindqvist is the story of a poor bullied boy and a strange cute girl. There's sex, violence, zombies and vampires . Ultimately its a warm hearted story of friendship.
