Where do I start with Heidegger?(Yes, I speak German)

>>25169474the standard advice is to start with The Question Concerning Technology and The Origin of the Work of Art, but really you should start with secondary literature because Heidegger is extremely hard and extremely dense. read picrel, probably best intro in English. afraid I'm not up on German-language Heidegger scholarship
>>25169474Early lecture courses. His conceptions of phenomenology and hermeneutics will become more clear, and it's easier to see how he develops his own conceptual apparatuses to arrive at Being & Time.

Heidegger Handbuch by Dieter Thomä is a pretty good collection of different authors on Heideggers different ideas. For an entertaining biography I'd recommend: Ein Meister aus Deutschland: Heidegger und seine Zeit by Rüdiger Safranski. Very good and comfy read that will put some of his writings into context with his life. If you are looking for some introductionary videos I'd recommend this playlist.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VzCph38qtQ&list=PLEJ1VSP-rVPe7rlwnvSRzGHWa2q6GDdab&index=2It's some 13 videos with a good length. This guy also has a very good two part video despite being in english. https://youtu.be/bme25f0IUb8Throw in primary material whenever you want to but starting right off the bat with Sein und Zeit will probably be too much.

>>25169474There's basically no reason to read this nigga even if you are fluent in German.
>>25169519I can second the Polt intro rec, that's what my professor recommended. >>25170605Agreed, starting with SZ is a bad move. You really want to start with secondary literature and move closer and closer to SZ. Begin with an overview (book, lecture, whatever), then a guidebook, then find lectures/guides to Heidegger's essays, and once you've got a good grasp of Heideggerese and you get his general project then pick up SZ. But be prepared to spend at least a couple months with it. Be aware that Dreyfus's work on SZ is excellent but strongly opinionated and many Heidegger scholars hate it -- other philosophers think he does a stellar job extracting the metaphysics from Division 1.
