You don't even need a telescope to begin, and even a pair of good binoculars can give a wealth of enjoyment. Learn to identify animals, birds, insects and plants in your area. Just going outside on walks helps to change your thoughts from static to dynamic.Learn to build and fix things, or make art of any kind. Cooking is an extremely useful art to learn.Reading augments all of these pursuits of course.
