Reading any work online, no matter its length, is always an excruciating process for me. There is something about a computer screen that simply makes it much harder to stay focused and retain the information. It's not like I have any issues reading physical books either, I can go through dozens of pages in a sitting.Does anyone else have a similar issue?
is it wrong I just want to be a primo shit talker like Derrida?
>>25172876Just use your phone but avoid PDF, use epub.
>>25172876You get used to it pretty quickly once you realize what's out there. agree with >>25172937, epubs are better if you have this issue. About a third to a half of what I read is on my laptop now. Love you AA <3
>>25172937>avoid PDF, use epub.This. The issue sometimes the ebooks is only available in pdf or the epub version was horrendously misformatted.
>>25172876Screens tire your eyes. If the text is complex, you lose energy twofold: synthesizing the information and thinking the concepts, and enduring the sight of the screen
>>25172876That's what's known as a "you problem".
>>25172937PDF is coatedIt just.... works.
>>25172876Having some tablet like a Samsung tablet or something you can get for 200-300 dollars is the most ergonomic way to read electronic pdfs without the computer screen/computer chair death combo. You can just read like you would a book, at a table, or even on your bed, on any place really, in any comfort, to your back, neck, etc, and its also better on your eyes. I would absolutely recommend that. Don't bother with Kindle or other e-readers I think they're mostly low quality garbage that has little other functionality though, unless you really can't spend a little higher and HAVE to get something cheaper and shittier like that.
>>25173797>b-b-but muh e-ink!
uh yeah i agree with everything in this threaddebating buying a physical book anyway if i like the story enough
>>25172876Eink is much better to read on. Secondary option is limiting the white on your screen. Use an app that can switch the background to parchment yellow. Invert colours might also work.
>>25172876Pic related is how I read digitally. You don't even need an ereader. I have an android phone and an app called "pocketbook reader" with dark mode and blue light filter turned on. It's maximum comfy while reading especially at night in bed.
