Why do his plays get ignored? Are they really that much worse than his prose works?I mean Shakespeare wrote plays but the ideas presented inside are on prose level.

His response, weeks later, was to invite the other woman and her husband over to visit, then present them with a play he'd furiously written (and had his wife make copies of) and insist they had to all perform it then and there. It was a very thin analogue to what had happened where he gave everyone lines to say that he thought would smooth things over.
