I just started the Deptford Trilogy by this guy, I don't read a whole lot of Canadian literature but I'm quite enjoying it so far. For all it's simplicity he really goes into some complex themes and ideas regarding identity.
What's the consensus on him around here

I read the first in the trilogy, Fifth Business, a couple years ago was on a campaign to recommend Robertson Davies. I liked it a lot, but didn't continue. I'd like to read more Canadian literature, but I think the only other pieces of Canadiana I've read are Swallowed by Rejean Ducharme and a handful of poems by Phil Hall.

What do you take from it?
