>>25177496The Triumph of Israbestis Tott is only really interesting from a stylistic standpoint, just a vignette on its own and kind of pointless, but I find it incredibly interesting stylistically, amazingly well executed. I found the novel itself to be quite good and interesting, read it in 3 days once I stopped rereading The Triumph of Israbestis Tott and forced myself to go on. Need to reread that one soon, I have a much better grasp on Gass' style now and I suspect I missed a fair amount.

I've read Omensetter's Luck, the Tunnel, and In the Heart of the Heart of the Country, but I feel I ought to re-read them all and would like some more ideas on the works to push me along. Would Gass' own essays help me draw more out of his fiction?
