The Divine Comedy blew my mind
Imagine believing in something a bronze-age charlatan made up to keep people in line.
>>25179541>hit me with the harshest reality truthEpstein was innocent and retarded shitskin commies use him to show their incompetence.
>>25179541You always hear "hell is real", but never "heaven is real". Why is that?
>>25179575Only Hell is real
Hell isn't mentioned once in the bible
>>25179594It's mentioned about a million times in the new testament
>>25179541Anybody remember Skins? That was a great series. I think I would cry if I watched it again.
>>25179648I binged it in highschool and tried to recreate the experiences but failed.
>>25179547Imagine being stuck in level 1 stage 1 of Kohlberg and thinking you're seen as smart for parroting a shallow worldview.
Hell is how I know evil is real and people really are evil.Because either god or someone else made hell to punish people and if they need that level of punishment well they must be pretty bad.Or hell is not real but people made it up to control other (stupid) people which is a really evil thing to do.So whether hell is real or not it definitely proves people are evil.
Hell is unironically a better choice than Heaven when you think about it.>get to keep your identity>get to keep your feelings>can have thoughts of your own without them needing to conform to God's reddit-tier rules>can blame God (rightfully)>really you can do anything and not have to worry about God suddenly damning you, because you've already been damned>get to hang out with 99% of the most interesting people in human history, from the ancient philosophers to the greatest writers>after like a month straight of burning it probably won't even phase you anymore, demon chicks will have quickies with you when the angels aren't lookingHeaven is literally just sucking off Yahweh 2.0 and his OC for eternity. The allure of being able to reunite with loved ones (most of whom would likely be in hell anyway kek) doesn't even hold up once you realize that everyone will have been stripped of almost their entire personality and turned into a prayer zombie upon entering the pearly gates. This is why The Divine Comedy is at its most depressing once it gets to Paradiso. Dante comes all this way in hopes of seeing Beatrice, leaving his companion Virgil behind, only to realize she's functionally a robot and has no reaction to his still-human feelings. It's such a clear case of love stolen that it almost reads as NTR.
>>25179826this is why Mormons have the most kino heaven where you get to be god of your own planettheir religion also produces decent virtuous people too for the most part compared to all the rest
>>25179547is that what you tell yourself to cope.
>>25179541Christians don't seem very concerned about this. Jesus clearly states that not everyone who called him Lord will go to heaven. Isn't it horrible if your chance kf going to hell is even just 10%? But you still choose to spend your time on an anime porn site.
will you ever discuss PURGATORIO or PARADISO? havent you read past INFERNO?
>>25179840Did they render Mormonism pointless?
>>2517954121st century “intellectuals” replying to ESL Twitter slop
>>25179575unironically mental illness
>>25179848He obviously didn't mean it as some kind of Russian Roulette deal you retard
>>25179606really? which do you mean - ghenna, tartarus, or hades?
>>25179874Of course it's not truly random, but it's an epistemic chance. So you are 100% certain that you are one of the best Christians out there, so you are safe? Somehow every Christian seems to think that.
>>25179935Some people who call themselves "Christian" are obviously wolves in sheep's clothes. That's the point. Obviously Christians should have some doubt about whether they are saved or good enough but if you're at least trying I don't think this is meant to make you worry too much.
>>25179575The existence of Heaven is uncontested because we all end up there thanks to universal reconciliation. It's only Hell which is under debate, even though it has long been clear that Hell has been thoroughly debunked.
>>25179900Yes
>>25179853I'm writing a thing atm about a guy moving into a public house and doing his initial 'house tour', and the whole thing's supposed to be this loose pastiche of the Divine Comedy and it's in terza rima and there's an old bloke guiding him around (having a Virgil analogue is a pure coincidence) and all this sort of thing and there's one section where he's having a sort of homoerotic run-in with the microwave, which is fine and all because I'm not homophobic or anything -- in fact I've sucked a few cocks before myself -- except that the kitchen is supposed to be Purgatorio and I feel like something that gay is more of an Inferno thing and I don't know how to reconcile it unless I just remove that part but if I do that then I won't be able to claim my novel has LGBT representation when I inevitably send it to a publisher
>>25179541Hell isn't even consistently described. Which is why all the different christcucks argue over what Hell is like.Clearly it's as fake and gay as the rest of the book.
>>25179674i weep for your youthalso, have you guys been getting a new captcha with photos? or is my computer infected now?
>>25179541it was pretty mid, but I didn't read it in the original Italian
>>25179562trvth nvke
>>25180324Dont worry. The moment you say your book is like The Divine Comedy you'll be instantly rejected.
