What does /lit/ think of this man and his works? Man that saw the writing on the wall and was broken by the modern industrial world or just a manchild that didn't like working?
>>25183501Pretty close to the definition of a talentless hack. Pure juvenilia read almost exclusively by people inexperienced enough to be tricked by his smelly 'bohemian' facade, anyone beyond their freshman year is definitely too mature to stomach garbage like Bukowski for more than a couple pages (and if you're unfortunate enough to find his poetry first, I'm sorry you had to experience that)
>>25183501I like his quotes on being a poet way more than his poetry. His poetry gives me teen angst vibes, which is great if you're an angsty teen, I suppose. Unfortunately, I haven't been an angsty teen for 30 years or so.
