I feel that with my music, I've been playing for over 20 years at this point and I do feel like I've got "my sound" but so much of it is based off the same few ideas. If I release an album with those ideas present, it does worry me that I'd be hesitant to put out a different thing later that works with the same ideas, where I'd maybe come up with a better way to flesh them out.
I think it's better to probably just write the books and don't even try to get them published. Just exist with them, let your friends read it if they want, and keep writing. If in 10 years you come up with a better version of the same idea you wrote about 10 years ago you don't have to worry about your output appearing samey. Eventually just try to publish only what you're super proud of. If you try to remove your ego and maybe you're desire to make money off your work then there's no reason to actually put anything out
