I don't trust any translation after Arberry due to political baggage associated with Islam

Gabriel Said Reynolds has a Christian commentary on the Quran. Or the "Kor-An" as goofy performative scholars pronounce it.
Gordon Nickel has one out too.
Robert Spencer's "Critical Koran" is a sort of New King James update of, I think, Pickthall, but does have somewhat-decent footnotes mostly supplied by Ibn Warraq. Could itself use an update.

The first syllable is short and can't be transliterated into English really because it's a throat letter, and the second syllable is quantitatively long. Classical Arabic like Greek and Latin uses syllable length instead of stress

I decide on the version of the Krr-An based on the rendition of 4:34

Yeah but there's only like 4 English Quran translations that are poetic:

1. Arberry
2. Nikayin (a Shia translation)
3. Shawkat Toorwa (partial translation)
4. The one in OP

You can get a lot of literal translations but they all ruin the flow of the original language

Mushrikeen should really be translated as idolators. Polytheist is such flattening choice of English terminology that accentuates why this is inferior to ol arberry.
