Why do I sometimes read something and then inmediately not remember any of it? Literally nothing. If it didn't interest me, I will not remember it, even though it might be considered a classic. It just happened to me with hundred years of solitude. Only thing I remember from that book is that italian dude killing himself and some dude getting his sons massacred. Is it autism?
Zoomertism more like. What do you do? Just glance over pages to look for any cool plot developments? Behave yourself.
>>25190549I can perfectly remember Stoner or Sophocles' Oedipus King and Antigone. Just like I can remember Hamlet but do not know what the Taming of the Shrew was about. It's weird you know.
>>25190553Well, I guess that’s fine. it’s just a sign that something didn’t stick with you enough to hold your interest after you’d finished it.
>>25190544you're retard
>>25190544Same thing happens to me. But I am in my 30s with insomnia and ADHD so there's a clear explanation for it.
I read shakespeare, dante, homer, virgil 10 years ago you think I remember most of it over more recent focus? Lol
>>25190544>If it didn't interest me, I will not remember itThere's your answer. That's normal and expected.
>>25190544Reading is contingent upon the state of mind you're in. If you're distracted and your mind is elsewhere then your "reading" will be simply mechanically moving your eyes and little else. The most important element of reading is mental engagement.Even when mentally engaged, however, you may not immediately recall every single thing you've read. But as long as you're engaged it's probably okay because your mind works on different levels. It's possible to absorb information even if you can't recall it instantly. You need time to process and reflect on the information before it's assimilated to memory, which is why pausing every now and again is preferable over reading continuously.
