I can't relate to this shit because the only career rejection that happens in the book is the author not getting his book published.

should i order this? the male feminist story was fire but i get the feeling that was the only good one. what about his other book about the millenials in sf in like the 00s? i was a millenial around nyc in the 00s and it sucked ass.
>>25195381The other book is Private Citizens, I like it a lot but it was kind of a flop on /lit/. It's not as uh, satirical? even though the millennials in the book are massive losers. It's definitely a "/lit/izen tries to make a great novel" novel. As for Rejection, the stories in it kind of dont really dwell in the 'evil male feminist' camp so you might not like where it takes you, even though I thought the last segments were quite good.
>>25195371It really delves into the neurosis that places like reddit create. Being online is a poison to the mind. Learning to be lonely is hard, and even bad for your health, but it must be done.
>>25195441your post reminds me of when that How To Be Alone" poem/video went viral and a girl I really liked posted it on her facebook
>>25195400I really enjoyed it. I think the back half is significantly weaker than the front half but any book that manages to force the literary establishment to read multiple Evangelion cum references is worth my time.
>>25195467I like the botkin stuff, funny how reddit actually ended up being like that
>>25195371The chapter where Kant sends the descriptive email request is the hardest I’ve ever laughed
>>25195433>It's definitely a "/lit/izen tries to make a great novel" novel.Elaborate.Rejection was terrible redditslop. It didn't approach anything /lit/ related at all. It's hard to imagine the other book not being along the same line of better-ignored trash. Well anon? Are you just an illiterate zoomer tourist? (Not all zoomers are illiterate faggots btw but you are)
>>25197091/lit/ can't actually write though
The two stories I've read from this book have similar endings, where a guy blows up his life.
>>25197043Agreed. Funniest shit I've read in a long, long time.
>>25195371Read The Feminist recently and looking up the discussion online, it seemed pretty one-sided.Why is the interpretation of stories depicting men's struggles always one that assumes everything was his fault and entirely within his control? What's wrong with expecting social goods in return for your own pro-social behavior, especially when it's expected of you?
>>25198245if people didn't misread it like this it never would have been published tho
