I'm looking for a good book on PMCs, preferably something academic and analytical, rather than Joe Rogan slopstories. Could be about a company like Blackwater, or something more about the whole sector. Got any recommends?

more along the malita lines, there's Joseph P. Martino's "Resistance of Tyranny". haven't really read it, just paging through it now, but it seems pretty neat and scholarly, lots of citations, all about malita/prepper sorts of business.
I'd check the /k/ archives also.

I'm reading the Blackwater book now. It's a good deep dive into their incarnation. It is very lefty and anti Iraq war though.
