Why are Holmesfags so sensitive to how it gets adapted? It's so easy to set people off when they adapt something out of canon.
Idk, they already did an adaption.
The entire unspoken premise of the Holmes books is that someone's assumptions are always going to be correct when the writer makes those assumptions correct. The books begin and end with the writer putting the pieces together so they end up "fitting" according to how he makes them fit. Such a literary environment does not lend itself to much modification or leeway. In other words, they are stupid books for brainless guys who are easily duped, so any changes in their cages upset them.
>>25205939brainless women*
>>25205944Women don't read Holmes books. The audience is mostly chubby Dunning-Kruger guys who believe they're on the brink of being right all the time.
>>25205881After the BBC show, they have good reason to. Moffat and co. took source material that was already ready for adaptation and tried to act smart with it. And so you get a dogshit mess where things happen for the sake of happening instead of any intellectual coherence. >Why the fuck did Watson's wife die again? Oh yeah, she was an intelligence agency ninja who was knee-deep in the deep state stuff. >How is this related to the Arthur Conan Doyle stories again? No, you see, my name is Moffat and I'm smarter than him! I will show you by adding Sherlock Holmes' long lost SISTER as a plot while teasing Moriarty's return to blueball audiences while never having it happen! It's all subversion and I am so intelligent!
>>25205999Don't be so stuffy.
Ac Doyle was a propagandist, precursor to tavistock institute, and an occultistHe did those golden dawn rituals his contemporaries did that we are paying the cost of as a society now. His books were meant to train readers to think a certain way.Dennis Wheatley is also better
>>25206028We're paying the cost for cutting down the sacred groves. The Golden Dawn is a consequence of that.
>>25206048The groves in America and UK are gone
>>25205881Fun fact, Sherlock Holmes is always a dickhead because the Doyle Estate has the rights to "nice" Sherlock Holmes.
>>25206005jesus christ, why is his chin so sharp?
>>25205939>The entire unspoken premise of the Holmes books is that someone's assumptions are always going to be correct when the writer makes those assumptions correctright. the point is in the first story, that holmes has the method of deduction, and watson says its ineffable twaddle, it was an interesting story. but holmes was cash so doyle wrote more and more holmes. the best adaptation was house md which includes real medical deductions
>>25206165>the best adaptation was house md which includes real medical deductions
>>25205939>The entire unspoken premise of the Holmes books is that someone's assumptions are always going to be correct when the writer makes those assumptions correct.Lol, you thought that was a big brain take but it outed you as a brainlet. Go read Monster Milking Farm, trannie.
>>25206074Holmes was literally autistic. It's the reason I enjoy the Granada production of the stories, they let the character be the autist he was. As Watson said Holmes was a creature of habit, the reason Holmes became obsessed with him was due to Watson becoming one of his habits. Holmes wasn't a asshole he just had no capacity for empathy or understanding of other people's feelings.
>>25206696he's also my favorite Holmes.
