It’s not the same if you don’t listen to Richard Poe’s narration
>>
Listening to audiobooks is not reading.

>Drinking water ain’t drinking!

In your analogy, it would be like frotting water over your skin and telling yourself that's "drinking it". You do get the water (the content of the book), but not the same experience and result as actually drinking it (reading it instead of listening to it).

So blind people don’t read because they use braille or audiobooks? That’s retarded.
>>
>>25206358
READING books in braile is not the same as LISTENING to them, again.
>>
>>25206363
How?
>>
>>25206364
Im just pointing out that listening is listening to it, reading is reading the text. Nothing wrong with that, of course, but is simply not reading, right? Because what reading did you do exactly? You just listened.
>>

I listen to the audiobook as I have the book up on an ebook or physical copy. I bought the ugly cover with words on it.
I like the performance of audiobooks and like to read as I listen to it, to retain more.
>>
You two are like old ladies.
I orate the stuff I read out loud.
>>
>>25206383
Ah, see? You did read the book, but if you only listen to it, is not reading. Not really arguing about "you didn't actually got the content if you didn't in this way or other", i was just pointing out that reading the text is one thing, listening to it is another.

Anyway, to make this thread less autistic, what's your opinion on Suttree? Favourite corncob book?
>>
>>25206386
The only people who care about that are virgins.
>>
>>25206386
Suttree’s really interesting and I enjoy the carnivalesque and grotesque nature of the characters. I feel like it’s written in the tradition of Dostoevsky and Rabelais, in the sense it is polyphonic. I especially like the rhythm of the prose.
My favourite book is Blood Meridian.

Lot of garbage bait and shitty threads lately
