>Marathon the first page>70 different different names and 20 different fake locations mentionedAm I gonna be quizzed on this made up nonsense later?
Am I gonna be quizzed on all these "fiction bad" posts you've been making over the last twenty-four or so hours?
Fiction filters brainlets. Always has. Might I interest you in a little app called TikTok?
How do non fiction fags do it? >Read history book>50 cities, tribes, countries mentioned>20 different locations mentioned>50 gods mentioned >10 temples mentioned I am going to be quizzed on this nonsense later?
>>25211047am I going to be quizzed on the number of penises you've sucked?
>>25211218>when Jaan Puhvel tries to provide a two-page summary of some episode from the MahabharataLuckily it's a book, so the words aren't going anywhere.
>>25211218Things that are real are much more easy to remember. Like oh, there was an Apollo temple at Delphi. Cool, I'll gladly make room for that in my brain.
>>25211047There are 2 things, one is called pen and the other is called paper, nothing is stopping you from using these 2 objects and writing important names, locations and relations between them
I'm sorry, but fictionkings are more charismatic and intelligent than nonfictionfags. The fact that you made this thread indicates that you are retarded by nature.
>>25211047Bro you just keep reading and absorb it over time as you discover more of the fictional world, things start to connect and you recall stuff you've read before. I got into Conan by reading random comics out of order with no context, and over time I started to grasp where each country was etc.
Howard is a bad example of this since he deliberately kept things simple so readers can get the gist of what's going on and enjoy the story without needing to know anything about the setting or remember more than around four or five characters at any single time.
>>25211646A proper example would be Bakker, loved the nigga but the first third of TDTCB was pretty overwhelming. Doesn't hold a candle to Gardens of the Moon though, now that shit overloaded my skull.
>>25211646He wrote better action first paragraphs than anyone else ever has, though.
>>25211654>Gardens of the MoonI read that book but gun to my head i couldn't remember shit from it.
What you didn’t like the story where Conan meets an indigenous Glup Shitto who gets killed at the end before Conan escapes with a babe? Oh wait that’s all of them.
>>25211047The Conan stories would have benefited from a grounding in actual history. As it was, Howard borrowed historical kingdoms, tribes and suchlike without researching them. It all comes across as rather lazy.
>>25211218kek
>>25211047It makes more sense and you get more context as you read more of the stories. I started with "People of the Black Circle" and I didn't know where the fuck Vendhya was but everything made sense as I kept reading.
>>25211047People and place names dont matter. Just read till you care enough about them.
>>25212074>t. has never a conan story in his lifeBeyond the Black River and Tower of the Elephant are nothing like what you just described
>>25211921Spar of Andii
>>25211646oops you didn't read his constant lore dumping of the rise and fall of 20+ nigger races
>>25211654>that nigga shit fammin gwow fascinating
