>>25212953I see it is Frankfurt book club but do you guys hold online discussions? The charts you posted, I have found quite interesting. I would like to join.
>>25212972>Frankfurt not sure where you got that but it is an offline bookclub, we only really discuss books when we meet irlI would recommend trying to start one in your region yourself via the board

>>25213898where's the archive for the old wiki charts?
>>25212793Thucydides should be first in order to properly understand Athenian society and politics at the time of Socrates as well as to see where Plato is coming from when making his theories.
>>25213923I'm pretty sure nearly everything got migrated to the new wikihttps://lit.trainroll.xyz/wiki/Charts
Asked in a previous thread, but I'm searching for a chart I saw once, once had and never again saw anywhere else. It was a Pataphysics chart that had all of Jarry's works along with Alice in wonderland, Rimbaud and some other books. It is not on the wiki, nor even on the archive.org archive that has more charts. If any of you anons have it please share.
>>25212793is there a more contemporary version? I want to understand 20th century politics, and I'm sure this list will help, but is there like a shortcut list with political movements more clearly delineated? like communism as communists define it? because I'm sure present day communists don't claim das kapital for being problematic or something. What I want is to cut through obfuscations.
>>25214193>Mearsheimerretard reading retards

>>25214483NSA/Mossad agent spotted. kys, Templar tard.
You're reminding me why my Political Science class was so disappointing and why my life is basically over as this fact induced a lack of faith in school:None of these books showed up in the class. I learned more about why Trump destroyed democracy and Racism is bad, than the political origins of philosophy, and the political development and basis for democracy. Also learned why non renewable energy sucks and lobbyists suck
>>25214553>I took one non-political philosophy/theory course and extrapolate from thereThe OP is the core canon you'll read more or less throughout intro, upper level, and graduate courses. You clearly didn't get past the wise moron hump
Nice charts from u guys. But really noone has made charts on "wild wild west" and "journals, diaries and letters of great writers and poets" yet?
>>25212793Who the fuck is "De Tocqueville"?I'm not from the US, btw

>>25217400Where the fuck is Atomic Habits

I wanna get into the greeks, especially the republic, but I don't know much about ancient greece and lack a lot of historical context. Is Edith Hamilton's mythology really enough? There's so much background understanding I am missing, but I wanna learn the Iliad, odyssey, etc. Could someone please help me?
>>25217691If you want to read Iliad and Odyssey, just do that. Ancient relegions like the Greek's didn't have the one true version. Homer will say this god did one thing while other ancidnt authors will say the god did the other things.>Hamilton's mythologyIt's good but not necessary for Iliad and Odyssey.
>>25217704ok anon, but how will I get context for a lot of shit that I am expected to know like the geography of the area, political context, places, people etc? I feel like If I pick up the Iliad or the Peloponnesian war I'm gonna be like "where the fuck was this place? I don't know how this society even works". You feel me?
>>25217712>You feel me?No. Just read.
>>25217400>the Kybalion is on the meme self-help chartGrim
>>25217400All these books conflict with eachother.
>>25217777How does Mastery conflict with The Slight Edge?
>>25217793How does Objectivism not conflict with fucking Eckhart Tolle and Stoicism?
>>25217799Objectivism (militant atheist) conflicts with Tolle (christcuck), but I don't see how either inherently conflict with stoicism
>>25217400no thanks, i read russian symbolism and victorian-era poetry instead, all the self-help i need
>>25217831Wait, I confused Eckhart Tolle with Meister Eckhart, nevermind. Yeah, all that slop is compatible with each other, except the Kybalion which doesn't belong there.
>>25212795Based novice asking for help. ;)
>>25212960Stephen king's entire ouvre is after harry potter.
>>25215731Why was the motorcycle gang leader reading freakonomics in the tv show banshee?
>>25217772Why? I saw a youtube video about oration and it mentioned something about hermetics.
>>25218199The Kybalion is an amazing book and shouldn't be be next to self-help slop and Ayn Rand.
