Had a dream last night I was reading The Divine Comedy and the translator had replaced Dante (the character) with DFW to "make it more relatable to the modern American" (I'm not even American), and all the named demons were all TV executives or some shit. It was all going fine apart from the name swaps until it got to one canto where there were no line-breaks and it was basically like reading a paragraph of Infinite Jest.* What would someone like Freud say about such a dream?*Also there was heaps of footnotes

I dreamt that Michel Houellebecq and I willingly walked into a BDSM sex session that took place inside a huge, elegant "European building". I dreamt I read it too as it happened, and the text described him as an effete man wearing sensible clothes. We (and other 4 guys) sat in black leather couches in a room with big windows and natural light, when a loud and nasty group of degenerates entered and began torturing us. The last I saw of him, he was getting beaten up bloody by a little girl who looked like Shirley Temple.
I was Milton’s (not so much the biblical since i possessed those more honourably pious characteristics he has in PL. plus id just finished reading it) Adam in a dream recently and I, like God the father and the son, knew about the fall of man before it happened, I recall ragging Eve by her hair and hitting her head against a tree in Eden in frustration for something she hadn’t even done yet thinking “wow you’re so dumb, stupid woman. But I’m glad I get to be mankind’s father from now on” and then I woke up
