>>25219018t. NPC with no sense of imagination. Tolkien derived fantasy is not the only thing that exists, and I reckon you limit yourself by thinking in this closed off way. These worlds are as real as you make them in your mind like any other work of fiction. Like any other genre of literature (and it is a bit of a reach to call 'fantasy' a genre on its own because many of these books have nothing in common) there are works that are more or less derivative, and more or less well written, so you have to be discerning.
