Why doesn't a billionaire throw $250,000 at 1,000 random writers under 35 and see what kind of shit they throw up

>Why is patronage dead?Respect for the fine arts has been steadily declining. I don't know what exactly gets rich people's rocks off these days in other countries, but the way the American rich distinguish themselves is not by being well educated and having decorum and propriety but by having huge stocks and getting away with crime.I think it has to do with how accessible they are now. It's no longer a mark of status that you're well read or had a hand in producing great works. Anyone can do it, so it just makes you a nerd.
>>25219258to become a billionaire in America you have to be soulless which is why it's important to have an actual aristocracy.
Because then they'd stay cooming, they'd lose that divine intellect actually needed to put fucking pages together, you can't get that while going "le bobs madam" with $250, 000 in your pocket
>>25219236titties!
>>25219236I know someone who is half a billionaire and I loaned him money to eat a few months ago. His buisness is worth a great deal and his wealth is calculated with the value of the buisness but the recession ruined his cash situation and he has yet to recover. >>25219258Grant system is far better than patronage, just fill out a form and get a check instead of playing the dancing monkey at your patron's parties.
>>25219258In America it’s avarice, all avarice. This is why you have some people here who believe material success is tantamount to winning in life
>>25219236I think some european states do fund writers. I’m not sure, but euro states are quasi socialist so it makes sense.
>>25219236Millions are given every year.
>>25219258>Respect for the fine arts has been steadily declining.Because the fine arts themselves have declined all the way to the rock bottom. No sane and reasonable person will throw their money away.
The declining vigor is a more measurable issue. Masterpieces were crafted on less. For a lot of modern artists all you can do is kidnap them and lock them in a basement with calorie mates and art tools. Any takers?
>>25219236I mean, I would. I would fund so much art, but only under my conditions — literature and classical music. But I'm not a billionaire.
WE HAVE RAP MUSIC BROS THAT'S ALL THE ART WE NEEDdun dun chayo nigga nigga niggadun dun chanigga mm mofugga nigga bitchesdun dun chayo mofugga nigga yo, yo nigga dem bitchesdun dun chayo cars bitches dollars mmm niggaDon't you love our new culture made by proud and obviously superior AFRICAN AMERICANS, those lovable negroids who commit no crime and raise the standards for everything
>>25219236>Why doesn't a billionaire throw $250,000 at 1,000 random writers under 35 and see what kind of shit they throw upthey do but replace writers with podcasters
>>25219250They are adequate for my purposes.
>>25219509Bix nood, my nigger. Bix nood.
>>25219509Look at that poetry… Milton absolutely bodied by a real nigguh bix nood muhfuggan bitch ass wyte boy u cayn fuck wit deez rimes nigguh
>>25219236AI is cheaper.
>>25219236That is basically what like dimes square (which i think is Thiel funded?) and honestly most of the NYC art scene is although it is significantly more than 25.000 that gets sloshed around there. The answer is hot garbage and endless inter-artist gossip.
$250 isn't a compelling amount.
>>25219275>Grant system is far better than patronageMaybe on the overall, but it does incentivize making art that appeals specifically to grant-givers, which tends to make the products of that system very "samey."See: https://www.estragon.news/the-oracular-outsiders-and-the-homework-doers/No rich weirdos bankrolling someone who writes/draws some weird shit that appeals only to them.
>>25219236>Why doesn't a billionaire throw $250,000 at 1,000 random writers under 35 and see what kind of shit they throw upwhy doesnt the government do that? those 1000 writers will produce shovelware, also everyone under 35 is part of an existing paradigm and writes tendentiously. why doesnt a billionaire sponsor steven anderson to get an rss feed
>>25220401>incentivize making art that appeals specifically to grant-giversthe argument about whether Christ has one nature or two consumed government attention to impose penalties on the other team, while 100% of clergy approve of a woman divorcing her husband if she doesnt like him, which is completely opposed to Scripture. defending the doctrine that marriage is unbreakable and children belong with their father should be the core responsibility of the church, but while some hard line clerics grumble about no fault divorce, no one will condemn the lies of divorce skanks or the way children of divorce skanks are denied their fathers
>>25219250they can still go into my mouth just fine
>>25219250Small breasts are best breasts.
>>25219236How would doing that increase productivity and revenue for THEM though
>>25220583>why doesnt the government do that?this is called the national endowment for the arts and it's chronically, drastically underfunded because it makes the right screech and moan about gubmint waste
>>25220401That article has nothing to do with grants and you seem to know nothing about the grant system. Guessing you are just shilling your website.
>>25219236I have no proof but also no doubt that bankers did this like 200 years ago to poison literature, philosophy, history and subsequently every form of communication and art, so what's the point on doing so today when everything is already ruined?
>>25219509You jest but the populace decided that they would rather listen to that than read books, so these black guys you consider inferior are actually superior to you and your timmyculture in all all relevant aspects according to classical empiricism and neo-pragmatism.
>>25219439Honestly id do this. Im basically homeless cuz i cant brng myself to give a shit about anyyhing but my art, and my art doesnt pay. Its exhausting having to steal food, never having a good place to sleep, etc. If i could have access to a good library and laptop in prison id happily do it
>>25219262this
>>25220640>national endowment for the artswake me up when they produce anything remotely interesting>>25220656yeah in the 20th century it was well known that you had to include a seggz in your story or it wouldnt get published, so that despite not seeking mainstream publication for his faggy revanchist fantasies, the pornographer william pierce included seggz in his book the turner diaries which is then somehow the most commonly known antigovernment literature
