I’m writing my first pop fiction story.

It’s basically a conspiracy/political thriller about a group of shadowy figures trying to take over the world. I’m trying to incorporate some scifi/fantasy elements into it, a little bit like code geass. One of the main plot points is an attempted assassination of Rodrigo deturte. Is this a good idea?
