is it true that a lot of people live life entirely through reflexes and lived experience with zero introspection or any kind of critical thinking? it just sounds like a really terrifying way to live where you can't understand anything that surrounds you, i seriously doubt a lot of people live like this
I try my best that's why im HIGH AS FUCK most of the time but it doesn't stop the problem of thinking too much and constantly questioning everything when i just want to feel "happy", whatever that actually means. Not sure a state of happiness exists. Certainly not a constant state.
>>25222837i just watched that youtube video too
>>25222869what are you talking about?

Realistically, people only develop higher level thinking when their reflexes fail to help them adapt to their environment. It is only when you hit a wall in your development and you experience constant error signals from your senses, that you finally develop consciousness and self-awareness to troubleshoot the problem. Of course, this seldom actually helps. It's not that a lack of thinking leads to happiness, it's that a lack of thinking is often an indicator of being well-adjusted and therefore happy. It's an indicator that the person didn't hit any major roadblocks in their life that actually required them to sit down and develop higher level thinking and self-awareness. It is quite ironic that the most self-aware and conscious individuals are often the most neurotic and maladjusted, it was not the thinking that lead to develop this way but rather the obstacles themselves which required a solution in the form of higher level thinking.
>>25222875>it's that a lack of thinking is often an indicator of being well-adjusted and therefore happyi don't know, a lot of non-thining people don't seem to be very happy to me either. they often talk about how miserable their lives are too or how everything is getting worse as well.
>>25222837I think this just cope from people who are too neurotic thinking that anyone who doesn't overthink things to a debilitating degree just doesn't think at all
>>25222837>>25222887You guys are talking about Indians, literal or spiritual. Those who must rape when they see bobs and vagene, animals like that.According to Gurjieff's spectrum of NPCs:1. Indian2. Sadboy3. "Actually" Redittor4. Redpilled Normie5. Sigma Stoic6. Based Awakened Chad7. GodYou're talking about 3 looking down on 1 and 2.

>>25222837>is it true that a lot of people live life entirely through reflexes and lived experience with zero introspection or any kind of critical thinking?Yes. I work with women and Boomers. It is evident on a daily basis.

>>25223041no we are not. humans have the capability to develop conscious thinking and a lot do.as >>25222875 put it, there are certain events that can cause the average normgroid to start thinking.in fact albert camus talks about this in his essay "the myth of sisyphus".imagine for a moment that you're the average normgroid. you've lived through your life mostly coasting by on instincts. all was well until one day, something happened and caused you to actually start thinking and you assess your life. just imagine how terrifying that would be, and especially demoralising if your life was kind of shit. tolstoy also spoke of this in his essay "confession" and it's likely that this kind of realisation is where drug addiction, alcoholism, gambling or suicides come from.
>>25224507Notice how none of the depicted people here are chimping out or hanging from the side of the train. If you imagine those people in the image as well, there is no way you can also imagine their heads connecting to the same thought bubble, right?

>>25224507>>25224864Funnily enough, most people don't have any internal monologue to allow for such a thought in the first place, so this meme is basically false. If anyone has it the edit about this pls post
