This is ironically the only one. League of Extraordinary Gentlemen series is also kind of /lit/, but From Hell is more literary exposition than action.
No. Besides, Alan Moore wrote Jerusalem. Which is like if an illiterate tried to imitate Joyce. It brings to mind Paul McCartney trying his hand at classical music for it to be a complete failure.Bear in mind. I liked Marvelman as a teenager.
>>25224966The dialogue in From Hell is ridiculously dense and the art takes a backseat. It's almost a closet drama with pictures

Pretty much anything by Alan Moore.

>>25224953Pictures trigger my autism. I dont like them unless they are kept to a minimum. Like a nice meaningful coverpage, or at most 1 illustration every page of text. They distract me and I dont know where to look. and by the time I appreciate the art to a decent degree, I have lost track of the narrative. Which is weird, because I generally like visual art, shit like They Dying Gaul sculpture or Casper David Thoreau's paintings, just not as my primary means of an extended story telling.
From Hell and Swamp Thing Saga are by far Moore's best.

Presumably Ulysses?Somewhat, but only one chapter, and only because it's told from the first-person perspective of Lucia Joyce. The book itself is about the neighborhood in which Alan Moore grew up, and there was a sanitarium there where Lucia was interned for a while.
>Alan MooreFunnybook men with literary pretensions never get old.
>>25226045>it can't be literature because... THERE'S PICTURES!!!!1!pipe down, brainlet
Let's not complicate things. Literature is primarily text. But, great literature isn't only text. It's a masterful integration of storytelling, style, theme, symbolism, etc that is invoked through the use of text. I will agree however that there may be comics that achieve the same masterful integration of elements as great literature. Here I argue that its more great storytelling than both being great literature.
